sounds like its a 210.

if you have a car thats near to the changeover the only way to check for sure is to check the engine code.
the 210 was AMK
the 225 is BAM.
the engine code can be found under the engine cover at the front offside corner.

some people will say if it has teardrop wing mirrors its a 225. THIS IS NOT CORRECT as some late 210s had this.

The 225 had the newer steering wheel with the red strip at the top which the 210 did not. However it should be noted that many people have updated the steering wheel so this should only be used as a guide.

was on before and said my 03 lcr was a 225 and it got me thinking was it wasnt it is there any way of telling by looking at the regy docs .when i bought it i was told it was a 225 by the garage

i ve got a 03 lcr and its a 225

No you dont.

No such thing as a 03 plated 225.

Do some research and im afraid you'll find it is indeed a 210 AMK with older steering wheel:D

210's are often getting sold as 225's as no-one knows the difference. only way of knowing is a little research beforehand!

What would you want to do about it though?

There's no real difference apart from the steering wheel.

Research my friend!

go back to the garage and tell them that they miss sold the car . they were ment to sell me a 225 not a 210

What's the point though? Most 210s punch above their weight into touching distance of the 225 anyway, so unless you're that bothered about the steering wheel (which, IMO, looks better on the 225 but isn't as comfortable) then there's no point.

As has been mentioned, research is the key when splashing your hard-earned on a motor. Garages are pretty much guaranteed to market all LCRs as 225 these days.

the point, is that the agreed value was based on a 225. So it may be worth a fairly decent refund.

Garages are full of loons, you should NEVER rely on what they say. Mine was advertised as a 225 but i knew better proved it to them and got money off the asking price

Mines a 210 July 03 and has tear drop mirrors. What is the big hubub about owning a 225 anyway

Its not exactly a quick car to start with so 10bhp more isn't going to make much difference, get it chipped if you want it faster, leave it alone if you don't

And don't go thinking a 210 wont chip to the same power as a 225! The end result is the same you'll just feel more of a difference with a 210
