R32 slave cylinder, does it work in a six speed box?

Have done a little research and found out the r32 clutch has the same dimensions and fitting as the stock six speed clutch. The 1.8t flywheel has to be used as the r32 flywheel has too many bolt holes.

The only issue is the diaphram springs are different and think they might have to be used with the r32 slave cylinder.

So does anyone know if the r32 and six speed slave cylinder can be swapped?

The R32 uses a Haldex Clutch and is for a 6 speed box but 4 wheel drive, not sure if it will work mate.

The haldex clutch is in the haldex unit by the rear diff.

Why would a four wheel drive clutch not work in a 2 wheel drive car?

I'm no expert, just a guess and i'm probably wrong, hopefully someone will give you a better answer.

I looked into this when I was thinking about replacing my S3's gearbox, the R32 box is essentially the same but as the V6 engine is canted at a different angle, the bellhousing bolt apertures are in different places (imagine spinning the box clockwise a little).
The slave cylinder was the same as the S3 and I'm damn sure from memory that the S3 cylinder was almost identical to the Mk4 Golf GTi. Worst case is you may have to make up a new pipe.

Thanks Stu, my only other concern is the thickness of the flywheel may be slightly different, meaning the cover depresses the clutch too little or not enough.
