Rear Window Demister

Hi guys,
Just a quicky, I picked my 97 plate tdi fr up yesterday, and i'm not sure if the rear demister is working or not. When i press the button on the dash, no light on the dashboard comes on to tell me that its on, and because its not frosty at the moment, there is nothing to clear!

Would anyone mind turning theirs on and seeing if a light should come on and let me know please?

No light come on in the intrument cluster. The button you pressed will turn to yellow/amber.

Thanks, the button turns yellow alright, suppose i'll just have to wait until its frosty again!

When it goes Yellow thats it on.

start the engine, hit the button, then go make a cuppa, then come back to the car with the kettle and lift the tailgate and hold the kettle 12 inches below the glass

if it's working you will see it

If its a really cold day, there'll be frost on the back window to start with, so I wouldn't need to!!

Mine was disconnected from the factory - the button lit up but no demisting action took place! Took 3 visits to the dealers for them to fix it too!

could be anything from fuse to actual problem in the wiring...
