get them to check the fluid level with the sreen removed, and to make sure that terminal 50 is not touching the brake fluid light switch.

I'm also in in the process of trying to find somebody local who can check those things for me (I'm also clueless) and will post back when it's been tried. Cheers for the advice Kev.
 
Had a similar problem with the Exeo. Red brake warning light came on intermittently sometimes after taking a right hand bend or going round an Island. Brake fluid level was perhaps closer to the minimum than the maximum but by no means low. Simply topped up, no problems since.

Yes brake fluid was the problem for me. Cough cough ahem I forgot to replace it when it was due, so problem in driver not in the car.
