Just looked through the history that came with my LCR to see that it has been mapped at red dot racing. Does anyone know what they use? I is deffo not a revo map as bager bill pluged the his laptop in, but it could be anything else. I had it side by side down a by pass with my friends LCR with stage 2 Custome Code and their is nothing between the two:p. Any info would be very helpful, thanks

Very true bill!! The Custome Code is far more usable in damp conditions. A very good map that Custome Code.

don't know what one it is, but its good to see people have the same map as i do. I went there and got mine done about 4mths ago now and love it. its nice and smooth once you get used to it, although 3rd and 5th at about 3k rpm is a pain, its like the car wants you to floor it so it sometimes jerks forward eager to go but apart from that i would def say the best improvement i noticed was at high speed the acceleration you get is much much better and all for £250 i was well chuffed, have you noticed these things?

I think it's just a generic remapping service they provide... not from one of the 'big' people - but just download maps as required

Sorry about the spelling! Well the map came on the car when I bought it and it has been on the car for a year now and all is well. I agree when I had my S4 I went and had an expensive map done at MRC, which have very good customer service by the way. It’s just that I am surprised that a £250 map gives the same performance as the Custom Code.

It may well do but driver ability and shift points along with slipstreaming may help the ''slower'' vehicle.

I cant see a stage 1 car being equal to a stage 2 car if im honest. Exhaust/FMIC etc makes quite a bit of difference.

Not about peak figures, its how it holds its torque and power that stage 2 excels at:)

What grade of fuel are you using Shamoo? If its 95 that'll be why the vehicle jerks use 97/99.

Have you changed the recirc valve? This will also cause jerks on mapped cars.

Nicky whom I was racing is a very good driver and can handle the car well. The road was a dual carriageway and they side by side so no slipstreaming the stage 2 is not that different unless you have an up rated down pipe. The FMIC come into play when it gets hot again(hopefully). This is not the first time this has happened with stage 1 and 2, me and nick raced when we had S3's with the same map but his car had full exhaust FMIC and their was nothing much in it all the way to 120mph, however when he had the down pipe done he definitely had more pulling power lower down.

i use bp ultimate and no i haven't changed any valves btw what is the best fuel to use, all I've used on my lcr since i have had it is bp ultimate, but the jerking only occurred after the remap i think its more the remap than the fuel.

Yeah BP Ultimate or Shells 99 octane is the best.

The only reason I said about the recirc valve is that when I went to have the revo trial the dealer told me that its not worth it because the standard valve cant deal with the amount of boost your car will be running once the remap has been put on. It say's in your avator that you have a forge 007 recirc valve. If you have got it give it a service and make sure you have the correct spring fitted. You may need to find out what sort of boost your running and then speak with forge about the spring strengh. I can put you in touch with a dealer down here.

at the end of the day a remap is a remap all do the same thing
the only difference you pay for with the bigger companies is the knowledge that more research has been done hence more money along with the reasurance that you WILL get good customer service

However i believe and find that smaller companies have more to loose from bad publisity as most of there income comes from word of mouth so if issues arise they are often more than welcome to help AS BEST they can wich is where i feel the research needs to be done as to whether they have the knowledge to help

simply not as simple as you make out. a remap is not the same across companies at all...

some are smoother than others, some make more power than others, some make more torque than others, some have glitches and abrupts power delivery etc etc etc as well as price and service.

well yeah i agree but its also swings and round abouts with power/ torque increases
but alot of the time the differences can be a matter of opinion as to what someones actually wants i have yet to see one company offer enough of a difference to another to say f**k thats alot
but with the glitches thats what i mean by more resarch done to eliminate these glitches

but at the base you still get the same thing

what im trying to say is that just because a certain company is charging less does never mean its a lesser product
