red paint for brake calipers

hi people. im wanting to paint my brake calipers red and have heard that using hammerite paint is better. what hammerite paint should i get? Just bog standard red hammerite paint or do they do a high temp one?. please help. thanks

You can use hammerite. Don't think they do a high temp one, but I could be wrong. I have not long painted my calipers on my Impreza. This time I used a red 'Hycote High Temperature' spray paint. Let that dry and then used a clear acrylic laquer spray once it had dried. Gave a real shiny finish, and after 3 months they still look as good as new. I will get around to the calipers on the FR before long hopefully.

Halford's high temp red engine paint did the trick for me £5! Doesnt have to be just hammerite! go for specialist engine paint,

I have always found hammerite last very well - fine on my R's rear calipers for over a year but the red isnt the brembo red of the front LCR Calipers its quite a bit lighter.
