When I get a chance Ill be taking my car to a few of the group Dyno days, will have a fair comparison then, as we did on the day where my car ran along with Zboyd's Cupra, mine made 337bhp and 342ft/lbs, that was on the K04 turbo before the full 3inch exhaust and PCV mods were fitted..
337 isn't 350 plus though Jonny with a k04. Adding a full 3" exhaust really doesn't make that much difference, S3 or not.
I pretty much discounted all my figures that I can't compare against other people under the similar conditions. Mine did 316hp indicated at ProSport where we also discovered it used a PS style german figure so in fact was running nearer to 311hp. Not sure if you rounded your 337 figure down or not. I would have to remind myself on your graph, but mine held it's power consistently across the rev band. Where it might not give a huge headline figure it holds its headline figure solidly from 4500rpm up to the limiter with little fall off.
The point people have been trying to make is that some of the calculations look a bit on the optimistic side that's all.
Awesome's rollers have indicated mine around 305hp, -+ either way it isn't bad compared to the figures from ProSport. Mine of course doesn't have the intake or larger core intercooler that your S3 had/has. however you look at it.
I think i covered this in my posts on Audi-sport that people get far to hung up on headline figures. Figures which may or may not be accurate especially when run on a single RR which is run by the tuner in question. Which also appear were not run under ideal conditions, same gear runs etc..
Plus that different tuners tend to map differently, some look for solid midrange or torque, others just want to see how much horsepower they can squeeze out of them in a straight line (not always that great for driving).
There are some very knowledgeable people here on SCN, who have been messing about with big turbo kits in some cases for a very longtime, and know them inside out. Rather than telling them
how to suck eggs, I've learned a great deal from them.
Skepticism is a healthy thing and it's not because we disbelieve you. You only know what your told in essence, years of going over this kind of subject a great deal tells us don't believe everything your told and do you own research.
As i've already said no doubting you have a great kit, but when people post something up on these forums at least. We don't just stick our head in the sand and say that's a great product we'll buy it. We tend to ask questions, sometimes the questions we ask can be the opposite to the tuners point of view.
