Remap next week (Custom Code)

had a bit of a search but cant find much tbh...

im having the car remapped again next week (going with custom code)

realisticly what figures should I see?

the site is saying 190 - 200bhp... these about right?


i know its all a dyno lottery but.... results?

on mikeanics rolling road I pulled 162bhp // 166 lb ft with my current map (Ch1pped UK - 'stage 1') that is boosting to 10psi - not much of a map at all (also done b4 the zorst was on)

specs are (will be)
custom code stage 1, force split-r dv, green filter (smoothed air box), cat back zorst.

Yeah you won't be seeing more than that...

personally I would wait with getting it custom coded, and get a bigger downpipe, TIP and possibly k03(s) first...then you will see a good 235-240 and possibly even higher...

illd be happy with 190 - 200 tbh... not worth throwing aload of cash at it, end of the day, its an old car.....

or did ya means i cant really expect more then 162 ? cos if so.. thats a bit pants... 7bhp gain... wooo!

One remap to another will not give significant gains of 20bhp over another.

Mostly its the characteristic of how the power is delivered that may vary. Some come on boost harder than others, but you'd be highly unlikely to see a 20bhp difference from one map to another. Maybe +/-10bhp max, but I'd be sceptical at that.

I'd put your money towards a decent suspension set up to help you realise the benefit of the power you already have

i'd say around the 190 mark after a custom code map mate, but then you'll be needing brakes and suspension :lol:

thats fine, i just wanted to know it wasnt wasted money.... the ch1pped UK map is doing nothing... its boosting to 10psi (checked with vag-com and my boost gauge) currently RR'd as said previously at 162bhp which is fook all up on standard.

I know the car is capable as before i had (from the same mapper) another map 'turbo rabbit' which was seeing me spike and 21 - 22 psi and hold at 11 ish... the problem i had with that is the car went in limp mode, they 'fixed' this by putting this other map on... which is toss. lol... soo custom code @ psi turning seems the way fordward....

(that 162 was BHP @ Fly btw... not the wheels...)

i mean 162 is pants for a car thats supposed to be mapped, either you had a problem or is just isnt mapped, with the mods you said you have int he first post i'd say its on a standard map.

you could have a boost leak, or fault somewhere too though

cars been checked over by a mechanic on more then 1 occasion, no fault codes etc etc...

im pretty certain its the map...

logged it many of times with vag-com.

when i had it mapped by ch1ppped uk, it went on there rollers and made 206bhp...

Aup, You look like a local lad then....what colour's ya cupra? you go up fez anytime? You will be happy with custom code Pky from PSI Tuning-thats were i have my work done.....:D

ibizacupra:- yes, well, kinda... long sotry, it went to the agent in stoke, it kept going into limp mode (i paid for this) then it went to HQ in bromsgrove when it has been on this map (or lack of since) they just decided to take £250 out of my account being the nice people that they are... I managed to get this back tho through the bank... they however did do a dyno of the car which made 206 bhp are there crappy rollers (a tad off i think). very high losses.... im reasured by these cowboys tho that there equipment is fine ;)... LOL!

M47NER- Yeah im local (from Stone) I do venture into stoke now and then, dont religiously go up fez but pop up now and then... My Cupra is red, had it about a year now... where abouts you from?
Guys at PSI are great, i had my water pump done there, top class work and dont fob you off with crap :D

ian_cupra- believe me, it feels as flat as a pancake, ch1pped UK will tell u differently though...

Awesome....im from Cheadle.....,

Probs seen ya up there then- ive seen 2 red ones up there one of the plates has 777 in it so that could be you...or your the other one...lol, You getting bthe map cheap then there as its 30% off still int it? yeh they are really helpfull at PSI...

I know cheadle reasnably well... know a few peeps from there :D

know any half decent places to get dents out? im thinking chips away in staffrod at the mo.... they've done some work for me before (not dents).

Well, ive been custom coded today, omg what a difference its made! been to manchester and back christ it shows what a pants 'map' chipped UK's was.

currently boosting to around 21-22psi on boost gauge then tailing off to around 11. Think that could possibly higher if i mess with me split R.. sounds awsome tho. lol..

Exaust is popping and banging its arse off now too. lol. sounds mint!

PSI didnt even need to take the ECU out, took some fuses out etc and flashed the ECU - didnt really take long. instant results, will do some logging later but im well happy!

Jason & Crew tbh can take a running jump, please dont mess with ibiza's again till ya know what ya doing? :p
