It will just not 500quids worth like you get with a standard Cupra.

I personally would not map an Ibiza R unless I had more mods such as FMIC and Turbo.

I have had Revo on an Ibiza and Custom Code on my Fabia vRS and I prefered the CC on the Fabia to Revo on the Ibiza, but this is like comparing chalk and cheese, if I was to Remap I would goo CC or Jabba.

After driving both a standard R and a standard Cupra I say id struggle to notice a difference bar the braking. Pulls a little harder.

But the difference between a standard cupra/r and a remaped cupra is massive. Its like owning a different car.

I thought the same when I installed the R ECU, bu the delivery of REVO and R is very different and can be deceiving, they way I would use to compare it is when you are in a diesel it feels like a kick up the ar*e but is not that quick.

Now with the Revo you have the torque which gives you a kick up the ar*e and makes it feel quicker, but with the R it is more progressive and less torque so it feels less urgent, but it is deceiving.

TBH the only way to compare is at Pod or something, and at the end of the day it is all personal choice, the R power may suit my driving style alot more and I am able to get better results from that.

You cannot compare a standard R to a revo remap. For a start the remap'd cupra - wether its a r or standard version will just **** all over the stock 'R' ecu'd car.

Sorry fella, he must have either been a **** driver or something was wrong. The revo is far more aggressive than a standard r, regardless of how the numbers stack up. As I said standard vs revo, the revo car is totally transformed.

It is, any of the available generic maps are worth the cash. Of all the mod's ive done the remaps have given me the biggest grin.

I thought i'd add my 2p worth on this one cos well i used to own JKing's car and had first hand experience with this.

I have to agree with Antonyjames_uk on this one and this is why:

The std R ECU, both mine and Dormouse's, pulled about 200bhp on Stealth's rollers on a SCN rolling road day many many moons ago. And the power delivery was flater than a witch's tit until 6k then dropped a little until the red line.

Now when I had the 10hr ignition trial of Revo on the car at the Haynes Test Track day many many moons ago too, I have to say I wasn't impressed with what it did to the Ibiza R. The torque/power was greater but at high RPM it dropped off incredibley quickly and I decided there and then it wasn't worth the money for the R.

For a Cupra, i'd say it was absolutley essential to make the car what it should be, but as for the R it's a waste of £500+ which could be spent impoving the handling and the real twicthy back end!

Totally disagree, the trial isnt long enough for the cars full potential to be reached, adaptations etc. How long is many moons? Im sure revo's devolped the code significatly since. The trial is a very clever marketing strategy that sure as **** makes you want more, enough to part with £500.

As for pulling numbers on dynos, never belive them. Pub talk!

You can believe whatever you like Jonzy I owned the car for 3 years, drove it every day and did over 40k miles in it.

I found it no quicker or any better with the 10hour trial than in std form, so tell me how is that " a very clever marketing strategy that sure as **** makes you want more" as you put it. All it made me do was keep my £500+!!

JKing - I'm doing real good thanks mate. The leon rolled over onto 20k last week which is shocking to me as I've only had the car a year!

As for your choices, i'd keep the money in your pocket if your not gonna change the turbo and spend it on something else. Just my opinion mate. Hope your well.
