Removing Drivers Door Inside Trim - Help Please!

Hi there,

I bought my 2004 LCR 225 the other week and there were a few minor niggles with it after I bought it.

One of the problems was that the OE stereo sounded dreadful and wouldn't play CDs properly. The cause of the poor sound was down to the tweeter speaker in the drivers door not working.

I have since replaced the head unit with a far nicer Sony single slot CD stereo with iPod and USB connectivity. It looks cool and lights up in the same red as all of the instruments, which is what I was after :D

Anyway, it appears that there's still a problem with the tweeter in the drivers door and I need to take the door trim panel off to have a look at it. Can anyone give me any pointers on how I can remove this without causing any damage? Where are the screw holes (if any) and what other tools might I need?

Are the speakers easy to get to?

Any help would be much appreciated.

J:)

It is pretty easy to get the panel off, but watch it when you remove the door handle as there are some small tabs which easily snap off (both did when I took drivers and passenger side off). These tabs are near the base of the handle (lower end) which is where you start levering with a screw driver. I managed to find both and superglue them back on and amazingly they have held in place (as far as I can tell). Just take it easy when trying to prise the thing off.

Also, when taking the top of the panel off I did manage to break one of the plastic panel clips, but my local Seat dealer had them in stock.
