Dont worry tom, its something i would do on your car for you and you just stand and watch. lol.

So far so good anyway, twisted the connection out of the cannister and plugged it in electronically and it seems to work. Will see what happens when i give it some mileage.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I'm still a bit unsure of the resistors.
Will a 330ohm 10watt work or not with the carbon canister?
Will a 330ohn 10watt also work with the SAP and N249?
Is it wright that taking the SAP off you can ditch the N112 and run vac pipe straight to DV?
If this is the case what resistor is needed to bypass it.

I hope to get rid off all the above but don't want to get half way through and be stuck, I'm making my own blanking plate.

Cheers
Olly

330 ohm 10 watt for N112, both of them.

No resistors for SAI at all for me, but a 330 ohm 10 watt again can be used.

Carbon cannister is a funny one, 330ohm 10 watt doesnt work, but screwing the top off and leaving it electrically plugged in does keep the CEL from comin on but will give you a pending fault.

This is what i'm doing for them all.

 phil

So I need to buy three 330ohm 10 watt resistors.

N249
N112
SAI

Just keep the carbon electrics plugged in but tucked up out the way,
then run the 2 manifold vac pipes to DV and FPR and blank off the hole in the block were the SAI valve was screwed in.

HUM should free up some much needed space :funk:.

I didnt even use a resistor for the SAI pump, never had a code from it either.

I might actually still have some 330ohm resistors olly, i'll have a look for you.

Where is the SAI on the engine that you need to blank off? Also did you just order it from that american site?

Yes I did just order it from the american site but it was shipped 4 weeks ago and has still not turned up! Speak to Alex at TTS Roadsport as he can make you one and its cheaper.

Right, instead of starting a new thread, I'd thought I'd bump this one.

I'm not looking at removing the Carbon Cannister just yet, but out of interest, what is it for? What does it do? Always wondered why it was there.

The carbon canister just catches fuel vapor from the tank and soaks it up, to avoid having a smellly engine bay/cabin. Ditch it if you want to, like me :D

ive read from bill that if you use the rong sizw resistor it can cause other thing to burn out near by

not sure but my resistor is under the shuttle panel nothing near it while i was doing that moved the wiring harness to the inside of the wing looks much neater plus easier to clean the engine bay

very nice ,sounds like what i would like to do
