Reverse Light

I like the cornering lights just not people tellin me there out haha

I love the corning lights however i just dont like how yellow they are compared too the rest of my lights...think you can get LED ones.

This reverse light needs a resistor to stop the strobe..when i come to do it, ill measure the current and voltage with a fluke multimeter and then work out the required resistance and then bosh that in, in series. simple

Has anyone successfully put the Cree LEDs in a 5dr? I got mine in, look great but the radio looses all signal when in reverse... Any Ideas?

Could this also be partly due to in the radio test mode it always reads ANT - OFF

I believe the radio gets quieter when in reverse so that you can hear any reverse sensor system beeping. Are you sure it's not just that?

Im talking full on white noise! - because of the LEDs - swapped them back out and it was fine. But seems a shame not to use them.

Radio test - Hold Menu button for 10secs whilst on radio - gives signal and unit info

Ah - there must be a power supply inside the lamp for the LED that is radiating like crazy or possibly getting in via the wiring. I guess too that it's relatively close to the aerial which makes it bad. Suppressor capacitors or ferrite beads perhaps - but that's alot of bother.

I'd always imagined that ANT-OFF applied to the power being fed to some amplifier in the aerial base. I don't know if there is one or not.

Both TTX and I fitted our new bulbs this afternoon! I had no issues with mine, yet his lit the bulb light on the dash when in reverse. I have tried mine this evening and I can now see my son's car parked behind mine! I am yet to actually use the lights to park in the dark, but I am sure they are going to be much better! These bulbs fit perfectly, unlike the first ones I ordered. Looking through the VCDS options list you can choose to have reverse bulb warning or not.

Another Spanish lottery as to wether your car has it working or not.

Seems you can also choose to have a warning for the number plate light. This probably isn't enabled either which is odd since it's a legal requirement and there is only one bulb!

Yep - so much variance between what is active and what is not from the factory.

Update!!!

Well, I finally got chance to try my new reverse bulbs tonight! They are heaps better than the standard ones - lit up the drive and the porch and my son's car behind me! Brilliant! Worth every single penny!!

Error light only comes on when in reverse gear, then only goes out when the engine is turned off.
If I replace with original bulb I don't get the error. And all other bulbs are working.

I'm just looking on here as my wife has mk5 tdi 5door. I've just fitted LED DRL's on my Yeti, but they will only work properly with a resistor as the wiring is canbus. I got mine from www.benzinfabrik.de not cheap but work a treat, and as they have the resistor do not bring up any bulb error warnings. As Seat Skoda Audi VW are all the same group and most parts similar it may be worth checking this web site to see if they may help with some of the problems.

Another web that may be of interest is www.superskoda.com they have loads of LED stuff and several people have fitted their boot light conversion kit. I'm sure most bits will fit Seat also.

and secondly
does this lamb flickers when the car is idle, or has any ambient light?
i have seen a lot of led like this lambs flickering in my Cupra 2010, or always have an ambient light day and night when you drive the car that is annoying!

As you have the cupra unfortunately the dsg will cause the bulb I've installed to flicker. I'm sure somebody tried the same bulb I have and it flickered. You could try installing the bulb with a resistor which may stop the flickering.

The listing says it will not fit a 2013 ibiza sc... is that the right bulb? as she needs a much bright bulb as round where I live they are now turning the street lights off at like 9:00pm!

The facelift sc has the new LED rear light units - They might not use the same bulb we are fitting to the pre-facelift cars.
