5dr = 2
3dr = 1

doesn't matter what engine/spec/MY, only matters how many doors you have.

Has anyone with a 3dr tried putting a bulb in the blank socket on the other side yet?

I had a look at the light unit - the back of the lense is blanked off so you wont see any light even if you can get a bulb to fit.

EDIT - upon closer inspection of both rear lights - i'm not sure we will be able to have two reverse lights.

It seems that the light clusters are designed for having a reverse light OR a fog light but not both ( only one or the other reflector is present )
If you did get a bulb in place for the second reverse light - it would also light up the fog light and fail an MOT.
Also - the wire and connector that would feed the reverse light is not in the plug that feeds the light cluster on the drivers side.

Seems like this is a dead end then. Hats off to Dan for at least sourcing a LED bulb that drastically improves the standard puny reverse light output. :)

I can confirm that LHD cars have the reverse light bulb on their RH tail light.
I was thinking about trying to buy a LH tail light from UK to convert mine (LHD IBIZA 6J CUPRA 2011) to have two reverse lights!
Would be hapy to know if the looms are ready for that, and where can I buy this backing board or a complete tail light in the UK that will ship to Israel?

If you did fit the LH light from a UK car - you would loose the fog light you currently have in your LH light.

If you have no requirement for fog lights in Israel then a quick rewire would have two reverse lights. ( the space is available in the light plug for a connector and wire )

Got my Super bright carlos fandango LED bulb today and man o' man what a difference:D.

Once again big thanks to Dan90 for finding this solution. :clap:

I don't reckon you need 2 bulbs now, the reverse light is more than any car I've ever driven and I've driven many!!

Still would be nice to have both lights working, if anything just for overkill lol

I've noticed you do get a lot of looks similar to :blink: from cars behind when you engage reverse cracks me up every time

Well, my bulbs arrived today - super fast delivery I must say! Only problem is - the handbook says you just undo some clips to gain access to the rear light cluster, but mine (it's a 5 dr) seems to have some kind of allen socket on the edge of the cluster (when you lift the boot up). So I am guessing that it's also gonna cost me the price of the tool just to undo the screws! Anyone know what it's called, or is there some other way to get into the rear bulbs? The only bulbs I have ever changed were the front indicators in my old Corsa and they were easy - just unscrew, replace the bulb and screw back in!

Is the 5 door not like the 3 door.

There is a large wingnut inside the boot on the back of the lights - undo it and pop the light out.

That guide may help I wouldn't have thought the 3dr is too dissimilar to the 5dr when it comes to accessing the bulbs but I may stand corrected....

Thank you! That makes it look quite easy! Being female, I thought it would be more difficult - I didn't realise you only need to loosen that screw thing inside the boot. :rolleyes: Obviously the small red allen type screw doesn't need to be unscrewed (it;'s the one on the bottom of the cluster nearest the bumper/boot opening).

No problem glad to help, we all need it at some point.

The small red screw is a torx screw and requires the right size torx socket to undo, not entirely sure what its there for :shrug:

Edit thanks Deano so that's what its for lol
