Hi Richy,

Firstly, as many have said, your new car looks like a very nice example; the paint work looks exceptional with no signs of oxidising, which can be quite common with reds. I test drove a red one, but bought an Ovni LCR as it was a grand cheaper and better spec'd. A glossy red looks great on any car!

Secondly, I wouldn't be a fan of red Lamin-X on a red car. How about D.K's rear lights? I think they have been smoked using a spray-tint; they would look lovely against the red IMO. Either way, it's your car and as long as you like it, then that's the most important thing!

Finally, nice results with the metal polishing. It wasn't something that I had tried before, and opted to use the following kit:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12pc-All-Metal-Polishing-Kit-Belgom-Alu-250ml-/281008377865?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item416d679009

Using a sander first to remove the paint, this three stage process achieved amazing mirror finish results. I've attached a couple of pictures of my attempts to give you an idea of what the kit can effortlessly achieve. I ended up polishing everything in sight...:)

I hope you don't mind me posting this info; thought you might find it useful. Feel free to ask any questions, if needed.

Enjoy the car buddy, and keep us updated :)

Thanks for the comment James, much appreciated. Course i dont mind you posting, any info will help me out big time :D

With the lights i may just keep them standard or tint them ever so slightly but ill make sure i photoshop it before i go ahead with it lol

Your engine bay is stunning btw, just the look im aiming for, but regarding the polishing im not happy with the results as some parts are mirror and then some look matte, no matter how much sanding and autosol i use it does not want to be shiney  I am tempting to just get the whole thing professionally chromed but might invest on the metal polishing pack on your link.

That was my intention originally Richy, but with this kit I'm very happy with the results. The key to this process is a super smooth sanded finish before hand; just take your time with each mop and voila! The mops attach to a drill (drill piece included in the kit). I go over my polished bits once a year with a mop, and maintain it along with the rest of the bay using a Megs quick detailer; no metal polish needed :)

Cheers mark, you done the same as me then and jumped from a cupra :D I just want that little drop especially at the back to give it a nice stance, and thankfully the council have built a new drive as i would never get off of it with the old one lol

I dont know how much they would charge me either  Cheers for the tip though mate, luckily i have patients with these kind of things. I will be taking the inlet mani off next weekend and give it a going over as well. Did you polish your rocker cover??

Didn't wanna go down modding route but when you look at some of these baby's on here I think mine looks cack.......might go for some nice adjustable coillys in the new year......as I've got some 20 mm spacers for the rears to fit

I just Autosol'd that as it's not something that's on show. However if it was ever removed, and I had replacement gaskets, I would shave and polish it.

For me it just sit a bit to high as standard. Just dont go mad with it, coilovers, spacers, remap and keep everything else original :D
