Got cracking with fitting the TIP today and it was so much easier than fitting the one on my LC

Old TIP off and found this, in need of a catch tank me thinks

All tightened up

Gave the turbo a bit of a clean, not bad fo 80k

All fitted, and trial fitted my template for the heatshield. Will order the aluminium this week

Right had a busy weekend and got cracking on fitting my catch tank, N249 bypass, BMC filter and home made heatshield

First off was to remove the relay box and put the relay into the tunnel next to it

20130202_112541_zps9e6cf2bb.jpg

Then cut the bracket from the box and screwed it onto the back of the catch tank

I did put a second screw in after this photo

Next up i removed all the PCV system under the manifold

by the way i used this guide by RDS which was very handy

N249 Bypass all done thanks to this guide

All done apart from putting edging onto my heatshield and securing it a bit more, took it for a spin and i have to say it pulls a lot better but im not sure on the BMC filter, it doesn't give off a big wooosh like my jetex one does on my cupra, cant understand why??

Heres the final results of a very progressive weekend, just need more 19mm hose to go from the catchtank to the TIP.

Very busy time, top work mate.

Every air filter sounds different, not sure as to why. The massive metal mesh filter I had sounded crazy loud, much louder than my Jetex and the current Pipercross filter I am running but I prefer my current set up as it's the all rounder for performance, looks and sound.

Thanks mate. It is strange but i might take off the soundproofing and see if its a bit louder but it has dissapointed me a bit :( Wish i could find something thats an all rounder like yours but im so fussy with it matching the rest of the bay

It seems to be fine mate, have had a lot of hoses from them and they have all been good. Iv only tested it round the block so can't really judge it at the mo, but my cupra has their TIP and its good for the price :D

Excellent mate, only problem i found out which i didn't know until i was fitting it is where the pcv/hockey puck hose goes into the TIP, the diameter of both were the same so you will probably need a plastic joiner (15mm) i think  Regarding the vent im not sure, i only took the vent slats out of mine to fit the liquid gauge pod in there.....

Started her up today and found out the exhaust is blowing, sounds like its only coming from the tailpipe though but still gives me an excuse to get one of these at the end of the month :D

Great work mate, any reason you got a black tip and everything else in red lol? I'm eventually going to get round to replacing all my hoses with silicone but cant decide to go red (to match the car) or black which is a bit more stealthy.

Thanks mate :D Its just to break it up a bit as i didn't want to overpower the bay with too many red hoses. Matter of taste i think, go red if you want that stand out look and black if you dont, or do both like me so it doesn't look to much :D

I was !! I am !! Just on the list to do m8 last month was service & gearbox oil, liquid gauge,2 tyres, boot parcel shelf tray, dog bone kit, and centre section pipe with no silencer, considering it was staying std in the first place lol..... Next Monday its having a set of H&R springs just going 25mm as catching the front already at times, and the n/s tie rod arm and lower arm bushes as there worn so its just spend spend spend lol..... You know the score...

It's running great so at the mo performance upgrades are on hold its all about transforming the looks a bit at the moment, think the wheels will end up gunmetal grey also.....

Man thats a lot of spending power you have been doing mate lol. Theres no such thing as keeping these cars standard, only a matter of time when the bug hits you :D
Be interesting to see how the springs look as im considering these along with coilovers but not sure yet. Nice to see you are keeping it up to scratch though. Id personally go with gunmetal as well, suits silver :D

Yeah I love the car and it was cheap for what I got in my opinion, the reason I've gone springs is for coilovers I'd want the best and that's just being stupid money, so I'm going the cheap option along with I need my bushes doing quickly before it trashes my new tyres so though gotta pay for alignment may aswell drop springs on it at this point.....

March i should see a new tip and fans I hope...
Still contemplating the remap route ?? Do I?? Don't I etc ?? You know what it's like I'm more than happy with what it does its lively for a std car, but I'd also love a bit more in my next breath.....mmm
