Nightmare! Depending on where you parked, you could try and get cctv footage? Is it bad or polishable (if that's even a word ha)?

Needs to be machine polished mate borderline between polish and paint it!
Been advised it will buff out!
If it doesnt will just have to paint it

I'm in the same situation, what differences can the oils make?

Assuming you change it regularly, neither will be better than the others. So if it meets the vw spec, I'd buy the cheapest.
I usually get mine from euro. It's about £15 for 5 litres, meets the specs, and it's never in the car very long. There was virtually no wear to the internals after 120k miles so I guess it was doing it's job

i only change at services, is this a bad thing?
