Anyone have any photos of Mk2 Ibiza's with either a show car or roll cage... full or half just to get an idea.

And where can I get one from to? Found Wiecher Roll Cages but can't find any pics of them.

Cheers, Dave

Hey Dave, If I were you than I'd definitellly go for a proper roll cage. Here is a good example how of a roll cage can save your life. It sure did for one of the SXOC members:

BTW keep up the good work, I love your car

Cheers for that Mig, shows that they can easily save your life one day.

Like them cages to because you can have the rear seats in at the same time. Thats another thing I was thinking about because is it a pain when you only have two seats and with the MOT if it goes in with just two seats it'll be classed as a two seater so later in the year you put the seats in and it's not MOT for them. If you get that.

Mig - Cheers for the comment fella, loads more to come.... had a nice price from the bodyshop the other week :)

I still dont see the point in retaining the rear seats when you've got a metal structure in the back - nobody in there right mind would want to get in the back.

lol that is true mind, I wouldn't keep the rear seats there but its nice to have the option to place them in when you really need to.

no welded in parts no!!!

show cage = exactly what i want (pics show what another perason asked to see)
roll cage = to be used on a track etc. if your been stupid enough to be driving in a dangerous manner on public roads then you shouldnt be on them!!!!

if you want to drive fast/race and be safe then you need to be at a organised event and then alsio have extra safty features such as roll cages and fuel cut out etc

Show cages do what they say on the tin, there for show only, people why do you want to put a show one in? Well its for show as IMHO they look good They are there for looks like alloy wheels etc.

Have you thought about asking a fabricator to make exactly what you want? I had one done for my land rover (not a show one) and it cost peanuts in comparison, unless you need a proper one a decent made cage will do a similar job

You've missed the point entirely:rolleyes:

A proper rollcage will be fitted and mounted in way to becomes part of the vehicle - a show cage is just there for show and gives you comthing else for you to polish apart from your tailpipe(s)

Say you're car is in an accident - be it chucking the car at the nearest lampost or being hit by sombody else (ie innocent party) that show cage will have have nowhere near the integrity as a proper cage to the extent it might desintergrate and impale the occupants.

Put simply if your going fit somthing like that it may as well be the real deal.

Motorsport application or not, just commen sense really.

yes but would an insurer look at it like that,i got caught out by fitting a standard stainless steal exhaust, not performance at all,but because it was stainless they charged me extra as they said it increased the bhp of the car.total bollox as it was the same size, same shape as the standard one i took off.i explained this and the reason for buying it was so it would last longer than a mild steel one, they didnt buy it.

so maybe a show cage to them would be classed as just a roll cage there as for motorsport purposes.
