I have just picked up the S3 front lower strut brace but Audi do not have in stock the bolts to fix it and it will take them a week to get them in for me

the ones i wanted was N10467901 which were the bolts and N90914701 which are the riv nuts

is there any other bolts and riv nuts i can use or what size are they so i can buy some from halfords or b and q

many thanks guys

best to do it right first time though eh.. fit the upper whilst your waiting... seriously try seremotors on here. betya he gets it to you for thursday. if you ask him nicely

By rivet nuts you mean the ones you put in with a special gun? Surely a strut brace requires something more substantial than that like a proper nut and bolt and not something thats easily ripped out?

no not them kind of rivnuts... its a locking rivnut that goes into the brace then nto the subframe and you tighten the bolt into it

looks like ill have to wait, going by the guides i dont think it takes long to fit so will be able to do it after work.

regarding the s3 upper, i persume M8 or M10 bolts with nylock nuts will be fine?

DPJ,

im wating for the bolts from audi for the lower, just on about upper now, checking i got right size bolts

Yeah I was referring to the upper brace :) Mines none audi and M10 wouldn't fit, however the Audi upper strut is ok with M10 - but as I said - you need a rather large drill bit!
