abs light does not come on when placing key in and failed mot

push the lamp out and see if you get a voltage to it of any sort ?

trying to remember what fuse it runs on though

have you had it long? wonder if the person before you got so fed up of seeing it on constantly, that they took the bulb out before selling it you. I took my bulb out years ago...never failed an MOT because of it missing

Same here Pete, took mine out still passes every time. Its easy enough to check, two screws and two electrical connectors a bit of wiggling and the panel comes out.
