Hi All, 2nd post after posting in the Introduction section

Going to View the car mentioned in the thread title this weekend and was hoping for some advice, whether there should be any possible problems to look out for,

Some details i know about car is its a 2015 model with around 65000 miles on the clock and 1 owner from new.

Seems like it'll be perfect for me but don't really know what to look out for as ive driven a petrol ford focus for the past 10 years and before that only had cheap £500 corsa's

I have a 2014 184 (manual) and things I've had issues with:

Blocked heater matrix (known issue - just search the forum)
Rear shocks failed
Water pump failure (cambelt change should sort that)

Although it's basically impossible to check these things, see if any of them have been dealth with (receipts etc).

Check service history and see how often the oil/filter are changed. Cars on `long life` can allegedly be done @ 20,000 miles but that's a long time. I find that 10,000 miles is still a long time for a diesel with a DPF. I do mine every 5,000 miles and it prefers it.

The other big difference is the car has a DPF. No big deal but the car will regen every 200 miles or so and that's why I like to change oil regularly.

The car pulls well, and the 184 has a few `better` bits than the 150. I love mine. It's also chipped to about 220bhp and goes very well. Also get up 65mpg on the motorway so that's a positive!

I assume it has the tech pack (LED lights etc) - the convenience pack is nice but not essential (I have it) and the winter pack is nice to have but personal choice (I don't have it but do like the idea of heated seats).

No experience of the DSG.

Condensation in the front and rear lights

HPI it – hidden history.
Service History – look for more than just stamps in the book, any receipts? any extra’s like the timing belt or brake fluid change? DSG service – lots of places skip this.
Use the dvla online mot checker to verify miles – also any unusual fails?

Check the condition of things like tyres and brakes, can tell you a lot of how well looked after the car has been. 4 nice matching premium tyres or 4 budget ditchfinders.

Is it base spec or any extra ‘s? Tech Pack, 18’s, winter pack, convenience pack, leather, alcantara, sunroof, sound upgrade??

Two keys? Spare wheel? If it’s got the sat nav check the SD card with the maps is present.

All the above in addition to the usual used car checks, eg it’s not been crashed and it drives as it should.
