Just returned from a cracking drive home from East Yorkshire, after having Kieran upgrade my Cupra ST with the Seat Sound kit.
Very impressed with the way the install went and I can’t believe how much better the whole sound is. Not just the extra bass from the sub, but everything seems to have lifted with a lot more clarity.
Definitely recommend it if you’re considering improving the standard kit.
Thanks again Kieran!

Nice kit. Our estate has a full sized 18'' alloy with a tool kit in the middle of it so the sub wouldn't fit. The hatch has a space saver and kit at the side of it.

I quite like the idea of the speaker in the dash. Even without the sub I reckon that would make a good difference.

My estate came with the space saver and the foam tool holder that sits underneath it.
I think it would be best to ask Kieran whether you could fit the centre speaker and flash the hardware, leaving out the sub.
I did ask him how much of a difference that small centre speaker could make. He said it was more about the software update, changing the parameters of the system (think that’s how he worded it, sorry!). As if it had been de-tuned for the standard setup.

The estate toolkit should mount underneath the spare wheel unless you've got a wierd one for some reason

Edit: sorry, reread - yours is a full size wheel

Leaving out the subwoofer would result in lacking audio due to the new sound parameters trying to send audio via the subwoofer, it's not possible to add the centre speaker without the wiring adapter and sound parameters

Surely if you installed everything except the sub it's still going to sound better than stock? Would it be possible to fit a sun somewhere else, under the seat maybe?

I am nervous about the idea of posting the control box. What happens if it gets lost or damaged in the post? I buy and sell Hi-Fi and things do go missing. It does happen.

No it won't sound better

It removes low frequencies from the door speakers to send to the subwoofer. If the subwoofer isn't there - neither will the low frequencies be :(

You could likely take the high level output destined for the subwoofer and feed an amp with it if it has a high level input, or convert it for an amp without

The units aren't that expensive to replace, however we ask that customers ensure parcels are insured for the full value as we do when sending them

One question I had is..... If I take the unit out of the glove box to send to you will my infotainment work while it's not there, I'm guessing not?

Unfortunately not, the display is just a display. Your glovebox unit does all the interesting stuff

We don't ask for this to be sent to us until your kit is ready, and then once received we aim to send it back within 24 hours

Me neither, I'll just have to find an excuse to drive the length of the country to get it fitted.....🤔

I'm not too wild about the idea of posting that box, twice, just for a software update.
Unfortunately it's not just a software update. If it was, we'd be able to do it via an SD instead and you wouldn't need to post

Out of all of the units we've posted/had posted to us, one has gone missing and that was on its way to Singapore :). It eventually showed up after taking an unrecorded detour at customs

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a difference in factory sound deadening between Leon models that came with the Seat Sound kit and those without?

Is the kit powerful enough to warrant the cost of deadening materials such as dynamat?

No there is no difference between them

The standard setup benefits from sound deadening, so seat sound certainly will.

We recommend silentcoat for metal, and self adhesive 10mm foam for plastic trim

Out of interest how long does Seat Sound fitting take? I'm 5 hours away so it'd have to be an overnighter I think....

How much notice is needed to arrange installation of the kit?
Would I be able to book it with you and get the MIB sorted when I arrived rather than posting it?
