iv seen some on ebay listed, in regards the dealers just stamping the book for your previous services think you got more chance winning the lottery than that.
the stamp means everything

looks like im going to need a friend in seat, any 1 on here work at seat round the bucks area?
what about the service booklet, looked on ebay but not much luck..

Dealer should be able to order you a new service book, as for stamps I would think they will only stamp it for services they have done as they won't have records for other dealers.
I know at BMW they can order books without duplicate stamped on them to chassis number, but god knows about Seat.

The dealer can order you a duplicate BUT will only stamp up services done by them. If you have a record of other services by a dealer but they haven't stamped the book you will have to write to SEAT Uk and get them to authorise your local dealer to stamp the book which takes forever, I just gave up in the end and keep the receipt for the service in the handbook as well.

My mate had this with a Golf,He got a duplicate service book and then posted it to VW UK HQ and they stamped it as the dealer had closed down.
May be worth an e-mail to seat uk to see if they will do the same

I bought a brand new Cupra in 2001, and a second hand LCR last year, and both service schedule books are marked "Duplicate for SEAT Vehicles"

Seems odd that a brand new car fresh from the dealers should show "Duplicate"
This is shown on the front outside cover as "Duplicate for SEAT Vehicles", and inside in bold grey font on every page (almost like a watermark) as "duplicate"

Are you sure all are not marked Duplicate for some strange reason?

they are not the originals. i cant explain the brand new cupra logbook. imported by the dealer?

i have had two leons, 2000 and 2003 and neither had duplicate written on them.

I have viewed a car that had duplicate printed on the log book i called up some dealers to check the history and the current mileage was about half what it had been a year previously. Im not saying all are dodgy, but a duplicate log book would certainly put me off no matter how well they explained it.

I NEVER leave the log book in my car when its serviced. I take it with me when i pay and get it stamped. To late to help those affected on this thread, but i would recommend others do the same.

For those on this thread who will end up with a duplicate, i would get as much as you can out of the dealer. For example a covering letter from the manager stating it was lost due to their error, signed etc. Anything that will back up any explantion for the duplicate.
