hi i have had my lcr for nearly a year its a 03 with 38k its coming up for a service the problem is dont know wat to do my mate has offered to do a full service as a mate but cant stamp the book but could keep all recipts of oil plugs oil filter etc or i could just go seat barlows wolverhampton (herd bad things) or could take it to none dealer but will let down the full seat service history wat you guys think. do you think it be a prob to sell or really devalue the car if my mate or none seat garage dose it.

cheers guys

keep all reciepts you got with the service parts, buy all oem parts and sign the book asnd date it

id rather buy a serviced lc or r from a seat enthusiast than a seat dealer anyways.

may harm resale slightly as not all people see it that way, but at least you know its done properly... watch your amte do it and learn from it so you can do next time... its really easy

cheers i could do it my self just means crawling around the floor (lol) when he can just put it on the lift at his work. so would you fill the book in your self keep all recipts. see he did the cambelt and fitted metal water pump did the oil but never put that in the book think i should i got all the recipts for that to just dont want it to seem im fiddling the book thats all.

go on vista print and get your own stamp made, saying something simple like, SERVICED TO MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATION. keep your reciepts. im sure the first stamp is free

Thats a great idea il order one when i get in. I service mine myself have full wedge of receipts usually oem parts and take photos of replaced and new items for a bit more evidence. Cant argue with a well looked after enthusiasts car. At least you know its been done and the dealer hasnt charged you £5 for screen wash top up!

thanks guys will do that never thought about getting own stamp
