My service warning has come on today however the car only has 7k miles and was bought in june 06, I thought it was 10k miles/1 year. Any similar experiences anyone?

Think I'll just get them to reset the service warning, not due service till June so wont be paying for one till then.

they are crap at keeping accreate readings it can be reset with out any tools or anything i think this is how you do it but im not certain as its been a while sinse ive done it!

1.turn ignition on
2.hold trip computer button in for 10seconds
3.turn ignition off
4.hold trip computer button down for 10 seconds
5.turn ignition on and light should have been removed!

if not ring up seat and theyl tell you down the phone!

sounds like the car may have been sat at the docs for a bit before it was sold

wonder if today is 1 yr from the build date ?

Thought had crossed my mind although you'd have thought they'd have re-set it before the car was delivered..................... was arnold clark though:(

The service light's are time based not mileage according to my local stealer - which is why I never saw a service light on my Ibiza depsite doing 21000 miles in 11 months.

It's probably set at factory, so if you have a car that's been sat in port somewhere or something it's gonna come on too early. Just reset using the instructions in the user manual and you should be fine. :)

mines from Arnold Clark aswell
got it last day in june

the book they gave me says its due on the 29th May or something, cant remember.
iv seen elsewhere on the car stickers by Seat which say this, not sure where but im sure iv seen them.

few weeks ago i got a text from Arnold Clark and then a day or 2 later a card which said there records show my car is due a service they have made a provisional booking for 30th March and to ring them to confirm.
that got me thinking so i hooked up the Vag-Com and that said 55 days(few weeks ago now) which was the 8th May or something.

didnt contact Arnold Clark cause as far as im concerned its May time its due and the light hasnt come on yet and i want a Seat Approved workshop on it.

local skoda say £121 presume thats plus vat, i cant remember
IVC indipendent Vag group say £120 + vat inc lube and long life oil

mines on somewhere around 7300k miles

My mileage service indicator has just come on indicating that the 10k service is due at 9200 miles. I bought it at the start of Dec '06 brand new.

I rang up SEAT the day it appeared and asked them to book me in (£175 ) and they said if I want a courtesy car it's 3 weeks wait. I said that I'll have gone over the amount by then and she said - you'll have to get it serviced else you'll void the warranty!

I got mine in June last year and my OIL symbol appeared the other day, not long after I had done 15.5k miles. Maybe it is a year after the cars were built like someone suggested above?
