Hi

Today i took my Altea for 10000miles service, and guys from seat garage said to me that because car is 4 years old, this service gonna be treat like 40000miles. It's always 40000or 4 years? My car have 23000 miles right now.

Yeah mileage is irrelevant at four years.

Also they advise a cambelt and tensioner at four years but thats not part of the service.

I think your looking at around £250 - £300.
I have taken a chance and not done it at 4 years (36000 miles) as i personally feel its too early!
But thats not to say i'm recomending you don't do it,its on your head be it if it snaps theres a £2.5k bill instead

well.. today i've pick up my car, guys haven't change it (rubbish dealer anyway). On sevice sheet i've received it's something like that: poly v-belt: Check condition-> ok/completed
so i presume thats ok...

i will go and ask independent service anyway.

If you do get the cam belt changed, make sure you tell them to change the water pump as well.

I think you are getting confused between the PULLEY belt and the CAM/TIMING belt.
It looks like they have checked the PULLEY belt, and are saying that THAT is okay....NOT the timing belt !!!!!

ps. I just done quick search regarding prices and LOL Main seat dealer ->£399!!! :/
dealer from another city £250, local small garage £199 What a DIFFERENCE!!
