Regarding starting problems....had my Cupra for over 2 years now & done over 25000 miles and it starts first time every time with no probs. It's never so much as coughed or spluttered even when temp gauge is well below 0°C!

It normally runs on Tesco diesel too!

Just ordered some of this Millers stuff that seems to rate so highly as well - see if that gives the beast a few more bangs for my buck!

If you have been using it for 12 tankfulls now and it seems to be causing problems I would be tempted to switch back to 'ordinary' diesel for the next half-dozen tankfulls and see if the problem aleviates itself.

Save yourself a few bob too!

DIESEL & DUST

I've done 13K on my Leon FR and have used V-power, BP or Total Excelium.
Only in emergencies have I used the std Diesel.

The difference between V-power, BP Ultimate and Total premium diesels is that they contain a much higher Cetane rating which combusts much more efficiently when compared to standard Diesel. I also use the Millers additive in conjunction with V-power.
Shell extra is also the best out of the normal diesels as it contains detergents.

Never have smoke, better MPG, better acceleration and no DPF issues.
Hope this helps.

I always used to fill up on vPower Diesel then after a few skint months I decided to go for the normal Shell diesel - I can't tell any difference!

My best friend works for Shell and he swears by it (no he doesn't get discount haha).

I guess it's a personal opinion, try it out for a few tanks - see what you think.

I've used V-power diesel for a long time in my previous 110 TDI non PD and now in my recently acquired 2.0TDI PD Toledo DSG, with an occasional dash of Millers, and find it certainly gives an extra bit of oomph, and noticeably reduces the slight take-off lag which can be a bit disconcerting with this otherwise excellent gearbox. I've just spent a couple of weeks on the Isle of Man where V-power is not available- I filled up with something called Shell Pura diesel which seemed to work just as well. However just before leaving I put in some basic Shell diesel which made the car noticeably more sluggish and noisy. I personally think the extra outlay for premium fuel is worth it in terms of refinement and performance.

Filled my car up today with Diesel V-Power to see what it would be like and to treat the car aswell, put millers additive in aswell and theres definetly a massive difference from what i can see!

Car seems more resposive, responds better & did a 22 mile trip in which i was getting 60mpg where as before i would of been getting 50-53mpg & i wasnt driving like a nun either!

Was pretty expensive mind, think i will give the Diesel extra + millers a try next time to see if theres any difference

I used to use asda fual and forte but switched when my leon stopped starting, this i believe was caused by the asda fuel/forte mix eating away at the injector seals then switched to v-power/millers sport 4.
When i switched my leon was less smokey but didnt notice any real power gains.
I now run my truck on v-power and millers and it goes great, doesnt smoke at all and even weighing in a just under 3 tonnes it still picks up pretty well.

However i dont do many miles but filling up with v-power regardless WILL enevitably damage your wallet.

i dont think i'll ever put asda diesel in again now!

Will be Shell Diesel Extra with Millers additive atleast, maybe V-Power once every 6 months with the cost it is now :(
