50mpg over the first 50 miles of a new tank. It dropped to low 49 by the last twisty 10 miles of my journey.

Can I be bothered to drive carefully home on a Friday night?

Thats good going mate, the best I ever got out of my FR TDI was 49mpg once on a long run on the motorway with a really light throttle.

Don't know what I will get with the Cupra when I get it tommorrow, probably 20-22mpg if im lucky lol.

Those 50 miles were all at just over 70 on cruise. Rarely have to knock it off or change gear.

If i didn't do the mileage I'd have something with less doors and practicality I think. And maybe I'd rent it too.

I drove from Liverpool to Newcastle and got 49.9mpg, car had only done 1500miles then too.

I was going 70-80mph (according to tomtom) the whole way there, using cruise control

You do 60mph on the motorway? I get looks of disgust doing 70ish. Especially when in lane three overtaking.

Thats pretty good, the beeza FR did 53mpg over the last 1000+miles according to the computer.

The K1 is not soo economical, I went out yesterday for a longish drive on motorways and managed to get 28 mpg. Not bad, but then back in town it went down to 24ish!

Yeh screw the rest of em. I must admit tho when someone cuts in on me (why do people do this? Prove a point im going slower than 90 or something?) I go 4th gear floor it and just fly past em. So funny seeing peoples faces. The morale of the story is dont play with a FR TDI if u own a 1.6 Ford Focus! HEE HEE!

I get at least that every day on my 25 mile trip to work! :)

Whereabouts in Liverpool are you at? I only ever see one other FR around here and its black.. Might be yours?!

Thats where I'm going wrong.. Need to stop booting it on motorways and I'll get a decent MPG! :)

I usually end up at 40MPG on the way into work.. If its a good day (Saturday with no traffic) I can do it in 45, otherwise its a lot lower.. Damn traffic! [:@]

DPF could be sooted up - the ECU puts more fuel in to heat up the exhaust gasses. after I had mine cleared out at the dealers (went into limp mode because was fully sooted up) I was getting another 100 miles on a full tank! :)

whats involved at the dealers clearing out the dpf? is it same as the process in the handbook?
