As above really, just had new clutch and flywheel fitted but it slips under full boost. Does it need bedding in? If so, how many miles roughly? Or should i be going back down the garage with a stick.

Garage never said a word to me about bedding it in ect, didnt think to ask tbh. Going to take it easy and see if it gets any better.

Normally it's up to 500 miles of easy driving, but generally do about 100 round towns using the clutch then see... can't say I've ever ragged a brand new clutch so cant say if slip in the early days is normal.

It's like brake discs and pads need to bed the friction plated to the metal.

Ahh good, will give it some milage then. Thanks.

some bedding in is normal... but I dont think slippage is a good sign from new.
why is it ticking as you drive?

I fear the worst Pete.
MrsB's did'nt slip from new (only a nasty sachs power clutch in hers) - starting to slip a bit now 3 years on. mine does'nt has'nt ever slipped on SPEC, but these are obviously uprated.

G60 clutch torque spec (which I think is what should be in yours) should'nt be worried with 20VT revo torque.
what make went in?

fingers crossed for you.

Oh dear, ticking is due to the garage ripping a bit of plastic off from under the engine and its dragging on the floor. (not had time to remove it yet).

So it dosnt sound too good then, not sure what make went in in the end as i collected the car while not on good terms with the garage. They also said if i had any problems with the actual parts then i have to take it up with you! (which of course is nonsense). Do you think its worth doing a few slow easy miles to give it a chance or should i be asking questions?

they supplied & fitted the clutch Pete
I would be asking questions. Summats not working right there.

what clutch Phil, stage 3? Mine felt like OE aftre about 50 miles! bit tricky in 1st when your not concentrating mind you!

New clutches shouldnt slip.. Period.. get your money back and take it to some 'non cowboys'

any news pete

Garage had it back Friday, they put 50 miles on it and say its now fine. Did feel better when i got it back, just slipped a little when changine from 3rd to 4th at speed. Ive since done 250 miles on it and it feels spot on now. Maybe just needed a few miles.

Incidently, i got the old clutch and fly back and it all looks fine so not overly sure it needed changing :(

weird

when i had mine changed the old plate came out smooth as a babies bottom so was no wonder it was slipping. but after the swap everything was fine, went to santa pod the following week too.

I have my suspictions that maybe the car was miss diagnosed and the clutch and fly were fine all along. As my clutch has never slipped in the past. One minute it was fine, the next it was completey gone. Possibly pointing to master/slave cylinder failure. But hey ho, its all ok now.
