I am trying to get some side skirts but they seem to be very expensive? I was reading one of the fitting guides which had part numbers and prices. The price listed for both side skirts and all extra fittings came to £85 which i thought was very good, I got on the phone to the dealers and gave them the part number for just 1 skirt so i could check the prices. They came back with £76 :-o and this was just for 1 skirt and no fixings. This cant be right can it? I have also been looking at a replica cupra R set on ebay which are only £75 inc post http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEAT-LEON-CUP...ryZ72208QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Can anyone give me some info about if the dealer prices are right and also are the ebay ones any good?? Thanks chaps :)

Replica kit is 9 times out of 10 made from Fibreglass, which doesn't take abuse too well. It's solid, but just shatters and breaks away in bits upon any impact. Plus stone chips tend to take out lumps. Replica kits never fit properly either, so don't forget to budget for a good bodyshop to make the necessary adjustments to get a satisfactory fit and finish.

Standard, OE kit is made from ABS plastic which can flex and bend and take much more abuse and the fitment will be spot on. It's more expensive, but it's for a reason.

It's not just eBay ones, it's all replica stuff, even from reputable shops. If you could find an aftermarket version of the skirts in ABS, they would probably be the same price - if not more - than the dealer.

psst ive a passenger side one needs repair painted!

what sort of repair is it?

i've been after a set of side skirts too...for ages.
found stealers way too expensive.
quoted about £200 for 2 pieces of plastic, some fittings and then it has to be painted..

Thanks a lot. I sent email so just wait to see the out come? ;)

i had a look on that web site...145 euros...about £100 but not sure if that is just for 1 or a pair... plus postage then maybe the fixing kit as well..
add it all up about the same as stealers i think especially if it is only one skirt.
hope its a pair though

did you ask them if 1 or 2 side skirts for 145 euros?

It's for a pair plus fitting kit.

Prices are without postage of course.
