Hi,

Installed an aftermarket head unit in the Leon, radio reception not great. Have just purchased an Aerial connector with a 12v feed to boost the signal. What colour wire do I connect this to on the car's loom? The 12v feed is blue in colour.

Cheers,

Alan.

Thanks,

Just thought someone might know off hand as I don't have a tester.

Motty, i used the remote cable to power mine, generally this is a blue cable and is part of the loom that comes with your headunit. Your headnit instruction book should tell you exactly which wire this is. This is also the wire that controls power to an amplifier (switches it on/off with the ignition) Worked for me anyway.

Hope that helps?

Matt.

Blue cable or blue and white cable will be fine. As Matt says, your instruction manual will say which wire is for an external aerial or remote turn on.

You should not power anythink through your remote lead.. This is not designed to take load.. Only to switch relays in amps to they turn on!!!!!!

If it's an aftermarket (Alpine / Sony / etc) then you should have a Blue or Blue/White wire going to position 5 in the ISO plug from the HU.

You should be able to connect to this...

All the adapter needs is a switched 12v +ive feed, and your new HU should have one of these as part of the loom.

The extra Blue wire from the HU is technically for the switched remote wire for aftermarket Amp installation.

Thats all said assuming your adapter came with the block connector pin on it...(my one from Halfords did)
