Software update process

Hi All,

Just wanted to share an FYI with you around the software update process. Recently I contacted Seat by reporting some minor software bugs with the view they could investigate and potentially resolve in upcoming updates. An example such as the lock button for the rear air conditioning is buggy. I've noticed at times I've enabled free control on the rear controls which get relocked after the turning the car off and then on again. It should remember the last known setting ie enabled as I left it.

Seat did respond within the 5 day sla when contacted. I was of the view that updates are pulled down over the air for bug fixes. Seat uk have advised that's not entirely right. Major package updates are still done via the service centers. They are hoping to develop it further in the future much in the way your phone or pc downloads big updates.

I'm aware there's major service campaign for First edition SEAT identification 90Q8.
Basically updating navigation unit to firmware version 1672, also other units need to be reprogrammed: kessy system to SW0706, virtual pedal, front radar ACC to SW0395, front lane assistant to SW3129

If anyone has First Edition worth to ask your service centre about 😉

Having had my MK4 Leon for just over 12 months I recently - 3 weeks ago took my car for it’s first service at the Seat garage where I bought the car. They also mentioned that there was a recall on the car for software updates. Having got the car back the Navigation is now not working (Circle goes around and around on screen and nothing happens). Voice control is now not working (for what it’s worth). Full link doesn’t work and all the safety features such as front radar, ACC are not working. The garage has said the software update must have failed and that I now need a new controller. They seem to be fobbing me off after messing up the software update. I just wondered if anyone else has had any issues regarding the software updates?

Sounds like absolute bullshit to be honest. If the module had failed during the update, ODIS/the fault codes within the module would've made them well aware of this
