Just bought myself a TDi cupra. unfortunately there was no spare wheel with it. would anybody know what the standard spare wheel is that comes with them so that I may try and source one?

thanks

Ibiza Cupra spares should be the same as one of the alloys on the car. They are quite rare, you might be able to find one in the 'accessories for sale' section on this site or you could try ebay.

it is a full size alloy as altech said, if you need it quick then you will need to go to dealers (aroud £200) as they do not come up for sale very often!

iirc Kriso, a member on here is selling one 17" Cupra alloy for a very good price. Check the accessories for sale section

Typical...been trying to shift it for ages and just sold it unfortunately. I do have another with a hole in it if you fancy getting it repaired?

Yea but I found a brand new one and new tyre (which I needed anyway) soon afterwards for £125. So it wasn't needed anymore.

i'm gutted...FR's come with a standard size black wheel for a spare, but it's never on long enough for anyone to notice :D

Nope, and will pass MOT without a spare to. But if it does have a spare and it's bald, it will fail

My 2007 Mk4 Ibiza Cupra TDi came with a bog standard steel spare, tyre size 195/45 R 16. I bought it brand new from a dealer and so that is what Seat supplied with the car.

The main wheels are, of course, the 17inch alloys.

Does the spare fit over the front brakes? I don't know, I've never had to use it (touch wood).

Cheers, Mick

You got done over mate :( ALL Cupras come with 5 Cupra alloys from the factory, it even says so in the brochure. The reason it the 'space saver' or 'standard' ones don't fit over the front brakes (altho they do fit the rears - but that's not your first concern when you've got a flat front at the side of the motorway!). I would complain and get it replaced..

:ban:

I have a full size alloy for a spare, I am a 05 plate. Is this a change that came about in later models to save costs?

Steelys won't fit over the front calipers because the alloys barely do, hence their particualr shape.

Having a steely as a spare is just excess weight in the boot.

I don't think it was a change since they only started making the Cupra in 2004 and 04 plate Cupras have the alloy, same as 07 plates.
