Yes I’m not contesting the speeding fine my own stupidity, just trying to get the most lenient punishment. With the school runs and me and her in doors both working shifts it will be near on impossible without me having a car. And if I do get a ban which looks likley it will affect her job also

Mate, was more about the others thinking it’s a easy out. Think you know it’s going to be a **** day lol

Yes definitely a band C and yes I know it will have a massive impact on my insurance next year looks like I will be in a Citroen C1

I've read an article very recently where surprisingly people with many points tend to pay less
More points = less likely to do something stupid as may easily loose licence
I think it makes sense even based on own experience

My sister got done for doing 60 in a 30. She got a solicitor and claimed that it would seriously effect her livelihood, make her lose her job etc and she would be jobless and thus taking more money from the government. Just play the card that you’d be absolutely f*cked without your license and make sure they’ve actually got enough proof, a solicitor should sort that out for you.

If you have to bro, even use a credit card for a solicitor as it will save your arse.

Best of luck mate.

Gonna play devils advocate here but doing 108 mph on a dual carriageway is bordering on reckless, and 60 in a 30 zone warrants punishment of some kind. If not, we'd all just be tearing around like lunatics. Having said that, if the offender has a clean licence then I'm all for some sort of leniency and I wouldn't like anyone to lose their job. The best the OP can hope for is a short ban that doesn't impact too much on their life or livelihood. I'll get my coat!

Wow! I'm worse than reckless then, I often hit 160 - 170km/h while overtaking, and not on dual carriageways either. It's nothing in something like a Cupra.
But then I've done that as part of my job once upon a time.

Bit late for you now but the car does come with 3 separate speed warnings (only two are user adjustable) so you can make your car sound like a life support system in overdrive when you go over your pre defined speed limit.

What's the third speed warning?
I'm only aware of the configurable speed warning and winter tyre warning.

VW Cars come with an inbuilt one that you can turn on with OBD11 (VCDS Etc) that is fixed at 75 but cant recall if that is MPH or KPH.

Super rubbish news. If its recorded on video it’s definitely a traffic officer or firearms officer with equipment in the vehicle just as good in evidence than a static speed camera. What did you reply to the caution? That will be recorded on the ticket and will also be produced in court. Best hope is for a very good solicitor that specialises in traffic offences and fingers crossed in court.
As others have already said, the cupra is a ridiculous car and it goes way over 70 without even putting much pressure on the accelerator! 20mph over the speed limit will tend to get you points and fine for future reference. :(

Yes! 170km/h definitely sounds reckless on a single carriageway regardless of a driver's ability.

It's 120kph and doable with Carista, as i turned it on before finding the manual set one via the menu...now my free trial has run out, i get a BONG at 75mph, and a second at 80mph

Is that a speed warning as well? I've got that option and left it alone cause I don't know what it does!
It's just another speed warning to remind you that winter tyres have limits.
Got mine set to 110mph as a "really make sure the road is empty warning"

I usually use the car sliding sideways towards a kerb as a warning I'm going too fast in winter :D. I'll look see what other speed warnings I've got... I might set me a calming warning for when I'm getting past some d!ckhead on the motorway.
