Just an update on this little problem, had the fuel filter changed as part of a service and it hasn,t happened since, Horray! Cheers for the pointers.

I changed my air filter about 2 months back for a green cotton panel one and not had it sinced. Although my standard filter was black so it was obviously restricting air flow. I'm going to change the fuel filter as well though as I don't know when it was last done. Must admit since changing the air filter there is less black smoke too and the turbo spools up slightly quicker.
