hats of to you for doing all the work yourself!! every time i read a cupra thread it makes me want one soo much more!!!! btw do all ibizas come with that anti vibration weight??

Why the best cars are in UK?
I´m from Spain and the only thing i can do in the car is remap it.
How it is possible that you have more tunning parts than the factory´s country?
Congratulations for your car!!

Just noticed the thread car looks awsome and well done for doing the work
yourself will need to get myself to a glasgow meet to check it out.

Hey guys, just a quick update...... currently in process of replacing my clutch and flywheel from the standard setup, had been slipping like mad the past while and getting worse as i raised the boost...... with it now set @ 1.5bar.

Gearbox, old flywheel and clutch are off just now..... Going to fit a G60 single mass flywheel along with a Helix autosport VR6 6 puk paddle clutch kit when it turns up. I will get some pictures up of the swap when its up and running again.

Then next thing on the list (once the clutch is run in) is a custom remap to get the fuelling bang on, probably @ badger 5. Then maybe a trip to Crail to see how the new clutch has helped [B)]

awesome m8 i was the same when i posted up my progress didnt want to give it away just turn up at trackdays and surprise a few people lol, should be gettin my new engine 2day and may get it on the road for edition 38 how long did it take you to fit the manifold m8?

awesome m8 keep up the good work oh and get some superleggeras on there we cant have 2 red cupras runnin same turbo and wheels lol only jokin m8 haha

Lol cheers, I know thats what I was like, but eventually had some decent pics of the turbo setup as i was fitting it and I thought f**k it.

Having trouble with the gearbox/clutch now. Gearbox is all fitted back on with the new clutch, now noticed when bolting up the o/s driveshaft... I've ripped the inpection plate off putting it back in, now that its all on, the clutch fork isn't refitted right after doing the bearing i don't think, its catching on the flywheel with my foot right down on the clutch. And I think we damaged a gear cable when taking the box off. I'm Raging at myself.

So gotta take it all back off again, but I may just get my work to do it, as its a absolute cu** doing it on the driveway on axle stands.

Yeh Gaz manifold was'nt too bad to fit, just need a bit of patience, think is a deep set spanner you need for some of the top ones, ratchet if possible. Don't worry lol, I have some 16" superleggeras that are going on when I have money to get them powercoated/tyres.

hey spud hows the car have you sorted the gearbox issue out yet? also hows the clutch im thinkin of goin down the same route as you with the clutch how much is the 6paddle clutch m8 and where did you get it from?

Hey mate, aye my car is sorted now, ended up I got it flatbedded into my work to get the box taken back off, n new gear cables fitted. The clutch fork was grinding on the clutch cover rivets when engaging the clutch fully, so they had to grind the fork flat at the edges on the top half. Not that I would have known to do that, did everything else right.

Got a G60 flywheel off of Roly on here, and I ordered the VR6 6 paddle clutch through euro car parts, but I work in the motor trade and my mate works in euro so he sorted it out cheaper for me. Its a bit juddery pulling away normally, but has a decent biting point unlike i'd imagine a 4 puk would be horrible for a road car. Anyway extra revs and it does'nt judder.

Car is noticably faster without a slipping clutch as you can imagine, especially in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Coming on boost in 5th in the wet = wheelspin = dirty underwear one day as it was midcorner lol.

Not sure If i can afford to keep my car anymore, so may put it up for sale soon, gutting after all the work i've put into it.

ah keep it walk 2 work lol

i also kno a mate who works in euro car parts i only thought they sold standard parts plus the odd lowering kits how much was it without mates rates m8?

atleast its on the road and u can enjoy smokin evo's lol

Thought I'd post an update even tho this is old news now, did the clutch last year after inters 09' clutch was slipping once boost was 'upped' to 1.5Bar and this is the pics from the clutch job. Later my work fitted two new gear cables as one got crushed taking the box out, and ground the clutch fork as it was catching on the new clutch plate.

Car Jacked up, In progress...

Nice one Spud, looking forward to seeing you back at Crail some time.

Are you going to be doing track days at KH too?
I've got one booked for the 6th of May

Cheers guys!

Aye Willie al be back at crail in june for the big Scotland meet. Would like to take it round knockhill too yeh, need to sort out the suspension first n get geometry set up properly too and get my other wheels on with decent tyres, like to think I could make the 6th of May that would be cool.

Engine has standard internals mate. Holding up fine, DON'T get the boost spikes with this setup that generally kill rods.
