Squeaking seats

Right, I'll make the fat ******* joke (and the mouse! ) now so for all those with the urge to reply with one, it's already been done!

Anyway, I have an annoying problem whereby the seats in FR 170 squeak whenever you move in them slightly, so much so that when you stop and set off they're bloody annoying! It sounds like it's a loose fitting or something but I've looked and they're some fancy shaped bolts that they're held down with!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and do you reckon I could bring it up on a warranty work issue to get it sorted??

i not sure, but my driver seathad recently been sqeaking sometimes only when there a slight movement but wasnt sure if it was coverd under warrenty or would it be classed at wear and tear

is it the seat or the seat belt holder, as my seatbelt holder squeeks so im going to put some soft side of velcro on in as it squeeks by the plastic holder off the seat material

Ive just had my drivers seat base and frame replaced under warranty for exactly the same issue - squeaking. They had to remove the drivers seat to see if it would be covered under warranty, but the dealer said that 95% of the time, its warranty work.

I think the squeaking comes from the plastics at the base of the handbrake that are squeezed by the padding of the seat base - you move, the padding pushes the plastics, the plastics are rubbing together so they squeak.

My springs seat squeeks like mad. Its the wires inside the seat back that are doing it on mine. Anytime you pull off or go over a bump it starts.

Anyone know if its a bad idea to remove the seat cover and foam and apply a bit of grease? Easy job? Drives me nuts

I have a similar problem but not with sound, my chair rocks in place even though the 4 nuts are hard down. dealer told me that its rocking in the runners and completely normal

No solution I'm afraid but I had a squeak last week on my 2nd day of driving my new 57MY Leon 2.0 TFSI QSD in "Sport" mode, I think it came from my unchromed ringpiece!!!!

Just an up date, i took my car in to the local dealer today for the Squeaking seat, they phoned me

back to say that there was nothing wrong with the seat, so i went down and asked the lady at services

to come with me to the car so i could show her what i meant, after hearing the seat Squeaking she then

said that they will replace the back rest under warranty. so hopefully this will cure the problem
