Hey folks,

Embarassing problem more than anything really, but I've noticed that my car is squeeking LOTS, when moving at slow speeds (usually in traffic). Not related to engine, as with clutch in, or in neutral, noise persists.

It doesn't do it all the time, but clears as soon as I'm doing about 10-15mph in a straight line. If I'm turning, I can hear it at slightly faster speeds too. (20mph)

I know the brakes make a lot of noise when i reverse, the usual "clunk" which I think is down to pads moving slightly in calipers (LCR does the same)

Anyone else got this, or had it in the past?
Anyone know what it could be? Obviously I can only create the noise when moving, so a bit hard to replicate it in the garage.

Could it be pads sticking, so need more anti-squeel grease or copper grease around pad/caliper?

Brakes binding on, maybe?

I get some loud squeeks from my rear brakes when I have the hand brake on and you get in the car..

Yeah, think as much.

Worse when car has been driven a bit - never get it when car has been sat for a long time. Pads expand when hot, don't they, so they'd be closer to disc etc?

Rear brakes, when reversing, sometimes sound like a foghorn is going off it's that loud! :S

Pads wont expand, it will be the discs as they heat up.

Defo sounds like the rear brakes need adjusting. The calipers are the same type as on the leon, wind in type.
