Steering wheel illumination

Hi all, new to the forum.

I purchased last week a mint Ibiza FR 20vt in Black magic with only 6500k on the clock.
The car seems perfect apart from one thing, the steering wheel controls do not light light up when the lights are on, as this is my first Ibiza, are they supposed to light up?

If so is there a common fault anybody knows about?

The car is still under warranty, so at least I can go to the dealer with the possible cause.

They aren't supposed to light up. Only the mk2 Leon ones do that.

I was also a bit put off by this on my first night in the Ibiza a few years back. I was thinking about fitting some micro LEDs but not sure if the buttons are translucent.

I remember a thread along similar lines a few years ago, basically some one decided to retro fit and made a right hash of it and advised others not to bother.

Must admit the lights on my FBMFSW do look smart and do not distract in any way as i i thought they would.

i thinhk the adaptors for the mk2 leon and later ibizas are the same, so you could possibly buy a leon wheel and you should have illuminated controls
