Steering wheel vibrates at 70ish mph

This weekend fitted new cv joints, brakes 2 new rear tyres. Had the tracking and wheels balanced. But when i get up to about 70mph the steering wheel vibrates/shakes pretty harshly.

Im confused now as i thought it would the balancing would sort it out. Only thing i can think of is that i had slightly wider tyres fitted to my ronals, instead of 195 went for 205 but ive been told this is ok.

if its possible get the front of the car in the air.. on axle stands and get car in gear and run in 1st or 2on tickover ,,
then look at both front wheels see if there moving up n down ,or side to side as if buckeled ,,,

if there ok get underneath and check drive shafts see if there moving equal as in up and down movement ,,

this sounds nuts but on my old car i hit huge pot hole thought alloy was buckeled , 125 pounds later plus tracking and balance the wheel was fine it bent the drive shaft ,, causing annoying vibration around 65-70 mph , hth

ps recomend someone stays in car when you run it in gear just in case

Could just be that you have lost one of your balancing weights if the garage hadn't stuck it on properly (i've had that happen before).

Im a bit sceptical about one of the wheels. The garage took the old weights off and put the wheel on their balancing machine. And the machine came back saying that the wheel was fine, ie no balancing weights needed.
Might just get them rechecked/balanced.
