The Map was done by a place in Bromsgrove, Birmingham ... they like their 'chips' and are advertised in the UK
If its not the map what else can it be? - Even Awesome are stumped...
I have contacted P-Torque and they want to take a look at it ... fair trek though but have said if cant find problem then no charge which is top service!

Thats what I thought too ... tempted to rip all the boost hoses off and inspect tommorrow night to ensure no leaks and replace the coil packs as well for hell of it so can tick another box.
Not ideal but I just want to get to the bottom of it ... I love the car but Im getting so frustrated with it.
If you sit @80mph in 6th around 3000rpm at constant throttle you can feel the car stuttering in and out even though your not moving the throttle.

No point buying this and that if u dont know the source of the problem.. Take it to an expert thats the best bet would you not say!
this mite sound daft but check the connections on your battery mines was doin same and was slugging and then i got it checked and it was a lose battery connection, after that it was back 2 new..

No stutter on instrumentation although have always had a speedo needle thats not smooth... is a little jerky wheen increasing / decreasing speed - I think this is normal and the couple I test drove did the same.
I've not replaced the coils yet... as VAGCOM not showing fault codes or misfires on the coil #groups ... hence the reluctance but if people think I should for sake of it then I will... I've asked PT for further guidance although obviously he is busy so I dont want to take the piss.

In an odd way the worse the car gets to drive the better it is, because from a diagnostic point of view it's easier to find.

Yup PT as in Performance Torque... Will has taken the time to read into my fault and make suggestions which is massively appreciated. Every other company is too busy to bother!

Well I can only get two BOSCH coilpacks today until next week... apparently a big shortage at the moment.
So I am picking them up tommorrow... I just need to decide now which two I replace on the car first for maximum effect... lol

Just make sure that the last 'digit' of coils' part nos is 'R' - ie 06B90511R - & NOT an earlier letter - R is the latest spec.
Re shortage: when I bought 4 coils (month ago) the VAG dealer told me that VAG are about to change the coilpack part nos, but whether for reasons of logistics or another upgrade, he knew not.
Might be worth giving a VAG dealer or VAGparts.co.uk a call to get update/clarification? (VAGparts: 01793 487700.)

I'll probably just replace cylinder 1 and 2... take for a drive and if no difference swap cylinder 3 and 4 around...

I thought you were going to wait and take the car to PT rather than replace more bits?
I was but Will @ PT has advised me to replace the coilpacks and if its still playing up then to take it to them and put on the rolling road so they can look into the problem deeper.
So I thought for the cost of two coil packs (£50) its worth a try ... if it doesnt work I will remove the new coil packs and sell them on...
What if ALL 4 coils are nearing their end?
See what the part nos are for all 4 - you might have some real old 'uns in there, such as the original factory fit items?

I posted up the part numbers for the Hitachi bolt down coil packs in the Leon parts section, about £120
I would replace all 4 as only replacing two is no good

If replacing two of them 'improves' the car then I know the coilpacks are suspect... tonight I will check the codes on old ones and also regap the plugs whilst at it.
Issue is I could only source two genuine latest BOSCH coilpacks... hence why I only have two... local place cant get anymore in until next week but said they had BERU coilpacks available which are OE to VW so he reckons?
I'm off to collect them in 20 mins ... so if the BERU are any good let me know!

It's irrelevant whether the coilpacks are made by Hitachi, Hovis, Bosch, Blériot, Bero, Bic, Birel, Bovis or Charlie's Aunt; it's the part nos that's critical - 06B90511R - as it denotes a) it's a genuine VAG-assigned part & not a copy, & b) it's the latest (R) spec, which all VAG-assigned parts are manufactured to.
