I've seen a couple of S3 braces fitted - both required modification to fit them - the leon bonnet lifter fouls on the brace slightly. and required grinding slightly.

 not if you take your time it will fit without modification....mine did...slide in the bonet lifter end first at an angle of about 45deg....fiddle...push and it goes on.....

y got to all the trouble of inserting these riv-nuts when its probably cheaper to just drill and tap the holes to suit an M8 capscrew!!!

I dont think the metal is thick enough to support a thread. At least with the inserts the fixing points are solid....

the struts are surprisinging thick! (too ages to drill them... had to drill 3 holes for each hole to make it to a 8mm hole!)

Had mine all done today and its great. No mods to the s3 brace or the lifter. Took chris 30min max and most of it was trying to find some bolts!
Wel worth while i think

I have a 04 plate LC (not R) and have just ordered the S3 lower front strut brace. Am I right in thinking the S3 upper front strut brace will fit the LC without modification???

Also,

1. is it worth fitting the lower front without the upper? or will it make the handling uneven/wierd?
2. Is it worth doing front strut braces without also doing rear? or will this make the handling uneven/wierd?
3. Will i then require to change the ARB's too?

Bear in mind i'm on a tight budget and have my eye on a REVO!!! So non essential/low benefit performanace/handling mods can ideally come later after a few choice mods (see my signature below).

cheers.

Im wondering this..as the A3 brace looks a bit Bland. APR do a nice carbon fibre one..buts its £175...Which is a bit tasty. Anyone know of any other braces available that fit?

are front lower and front upper strut braces with standard suspension pointless and the benefits minimal or will i feel a difference. and how much of a difference??? Don't want to lay out the benjamens if there is no point
