very unstable, certainly not safe to use in anything but an emergency

I only use mine to get my old trolley jack under. But I've replaced that now, so I don't need to use it at all

had a nice chat with nando one the phone on sunday, i'll be using a Mini Cooper S boost return valve, i thought it was like a dump valve but it's not. It lets air out while driving, then when chaging gear, releases it all (tssshhhhhh). This means that the car will kind of "overboost" meaning the throttle response will be much better than over having a dump valve / wastegate. Learnt quite a lot from that convo (apart from the mini part)

should get pics from this weekends goings on in a bit

that's really steep for the MS, but good for the fitting & mapping.... but then the mapping isn't done with a wideband, so you'll just need to pray for fuelling

narrow band will tell you that your car has lambda=1 for emissions only (zero load) - other than that they're "****"

wideband will tell you exactly what you're fuelling is doing.

It's not so bad on n/a, but as soon as you run FI you must map it with a wideband

all the MS sites talk about this... given that he's working as a professional by accepting money (and sure is charging accordingly for the MS) he should attempt at working professionally & map with a wideband.

If nothing else, it'll reassure him that your car isn't going to melt down the road.

Narrowband 'range'

so would you say its a must for a good set up. will it stop over fueling and leaning out?

it's a must full stop......

without a MAF you have no idea what the fuelling is.

too rich = bore wash, dire mpg & not 'best power'
too lean = severe engine damage
