there is a belt issue with the charger that we could not figure out what it is. that charger is fine for the 1.8 when its running right but think personally not big enough for abf

If you were going to go the route of fitting it to your 8v you may as well spend the money on buying yourself a larger charger and making the brackets etc yourself too.

If you were to buy it id start again, it wasnt modded very well and all he had were problems from what i could gather. Im in the middle of supercharging mine at the moment about halfway through and the advice i would give is, unless you have a bottemless pit of money then you need to be able to do the work yourself as it would be very costly otherwise. I have done everything on the car myself with a little help from my brothers. Also the time scale you give yourself to do the work double it and the double it again then maybe you will be somewhere near lol.

to be honest, the parts for the car alone make it worth more as a whole, all the brackets, the charger, the smaller pulley, the intercooler and silicon, TT inlet manifold and KR lower half, the exhaust system is £600 on its own with the 4 branch, these parts are all in good condition. I did not skimp on parts when doing the engine. the megasquirt was £900 fully fitted

i spent the best part of £2.5k on engine gear for that car, i did skimp on other bits, and in hindsight (a marvellous thing) i should have taken things easier, and maintained the engine first, before charging, but we're only young once.....

when i sold it the bodywork needed tidying, as did the engine bay etc, the mapping needed finishing, and the electrical issue needed sorting (the alternator was heating up and melting the belts)

i would buy this car back if i had the space, and pour the money into it that it needs, it's still the only one in the world, working or not, and as has already been said, with around £2k and many hours and some TLC, it'll be back to it's full potential

personally i'd whack all of the charger gear etc onto a KR, it'll be correctly mapped for that engine size

i sorted out all the engine bay. sorted out the starting problem thought sorted the belt issue out but after a long run and sitting in traffic the belt melted and shredded. i think he is mad if he breaks the car personally

yeah i bought it off chris mate :D you would be better getting another kr engine and swapping all the bits onto that as its already mapped for 1.8 16v

well the charger on that atm is better for a KR, you need a bigger one for an ABF mate

like envy said, just get another KR and swap parts over etc.
