I've decided today is the day to debadge the 2 'R' badges from below the side repeaters.

I really am unsure what to do about the rear of the car.... I know alot of people take off the L E O N lettering but I don't mind it. The remaining tailgate badges, the 'R' is perished but the CUPRA badge next to it is fine...

I just think the car might lose some identity if I completely remove all of the badges. Open to suggestions, but if you've got pictures of a platinum grey LCR debadged at all, please post it in here. Thanks :)

Wouldn't get rid of any of the R's personally Tom, as you said it would lose identity. But obv your car your choice ;) I got rid of the leon lettering and think it looks much better without it. I didn't mind it on but off it looks sweet. Don't think I'll get rid of any others, would be good to see pics though! :D

Agree with above, I will be taking the LEON letters off and replacing my worn out R badges etc

Cheers for the comments guys.. I'm going to keep the R and small CUPRA badge on the rear, but I think I'll take the L E O N off.

The badges by the side repeaters are defo coming off for a cleaner look down the sides. I imagine it would look ok with new badges, but I'd rather not buy more badges lol.

Taking the sides off really helps clean it up IMO, I'm looking at whether to put the L E O N back on haha

Good man ;) The moment i took the E off I though oh crap what if it looks terrible, but afterwards I was well pleased.

Ditto... Just thought that as I pulled mine off!

100% agree, just done it!

Although L E O N badge will not be going back on mine for sure. Much prefer it off now...

UPDATE: As above guys and girls, I've just debadged the LCR, stupidly late in the afternoon so I ran out of light more than time!!!

Pics will be up later as I'm off out to my mates to watch England vs Denmark (bound to be a load of ****) but anyway, moral of the story is I MUCH prefer the car debadged!

While I had light I could instantly see the sides look much cleaner and smoother. I like.

I have the small CUPRA and the remaining R badge to take off on the boot... Next time I will start debadging at an earlier time of the day.

For info I used the following for the job:

Lots of dental floss.
Warm water mixed with autosmart duet which I use to clean the car to warm up the sticky muck.
White spirit to break down the remaining sticky parts.
A O'Neill store card off my desk with some elbow grease to work off the sticky muck!!

Washed back down with autosmart duet, and shammy'd!!

I will be going over all of them I have done when I do the remaining 2.

As I mentioned, pics will be up later.

Also found a Forge sticker in my glove box, which I put down on the engine cover. It's the free mod's I love the most!!! :cartman:

Nicer without the leon letters eh mate ;) Not sure I could do them all though  Looking forward to the pics. Managed to debadge mine with hot soapy water, floss and my finger nail only - maybe I got lucky.

Robbie... You just had to smash it didn't you ;)

Your car looks the dogs Robbie. And is still probably my favourite LCR on the forum by some distance.

:seatgod:

Thanks t0m, its a labour of love at this stage.

+1, the CH's in that finish on the Platinum is. Just. The. Sex.

;)
+1 it is sexual isn't it!

I won't carbon copy Robbie, but I fancy something similar and as he is not in England I think I can get away with it! Plus I don't have CH's, as much as I love them :)

PM sent ;)

Won't be a carbon copy, nobody is running this color on LCR alloys or any other alloys i have seen for that matter, it was just another option for you.

I am sure what ever color you go for will be the dogs, just don't ever ever get a matt finish, i made that mistake.

Defo better without them, just got in from my mates' and had a look and I've defo done the right thing :)

I found some of the badges come off alot easier than others mate, the O in L E O N was a pig. But the others popped straight off. Weird, but not the hardest job in the world. Just needs persistence. The most important part is now making sure the surface is clean of any remaining residue and going over it again in daylight.

Thanks t0m, its a labour of love at this stage.

I can imagine you have alot of love for the car! I certainly would.. Although I've just realized how much I do love mine, had a fantastic clear A and B road blast back from my mates and it is pulling harder than ever before. It feels so quick. Really can't wait to get it on the same rollers next week to see what she's doing since her 283bhp run. I know it's not all about figures but I think by at least going on the same rollers I can gauge the gains, or losses! But hopefully the former.....

The option you give me for wheels is a great option and I'm really thinking about getting it done. Matt finish would certainly wear off on me so I'm glad you've backed up my initial thoughts :)

Hmm, those pics got progressively worse! Sorry guys!

As mentioned I will get better one's. It looks so much smoother and sleeker without the interruptions of badges.
