Update..
Got to Darren's earlier with 2 007p
service kits and a yellow spring for my 007p..
When the DV was opened up, I did guess this might be the case - turns out the green spring has been in there as I had thought lol.. Not ideal for stage 2 and the boost she's kicking out.
So with the DV apart it looked as though it could do with a
service, so the new piston went in, new 'O' rings and a full re-grease up. Same was done to Darren's after mine. I noticed a difference almost instantly, boost held better and the car pulled harder/faster as a result
Can't believe I had the green spring in there still. The DV had done well though for nearly 2 years without a
service. Not bad going IMO.
Some pics from today:
The car felt decent on the way home. Still not 100% in my book, but I think the boost leak is causing this and if it's not that, it'll be the MAF or N75.
Can MAF's be intermittent in that one minute they will perform fine, then not? I know they can fail completely and either under/over read G/S readings. But the car was logged for G/S at AmD and it pulled 206 g/s which is approx 250-260bhp BUT I didn't get near the red line. Should have done now I know...
Anyway, I think as it's the standard old MAF on a 2005 car I will replace it but one night this week I will unplug the MAF and run it without to see if it's any better or worse to see if I can pinpoint it.
Also ordering something else this week but I'll post a pic up once it's collected....
