• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
Thats not a normal cover mine just has like a plastic sheet over it allowing the water to fun off, Looks like the ECU could sweat in that cover.

its not completely wrapped around at the bottom, just stops water dripping onto it, its loosely fitted and was totally dry underneath

from the codes and looking on ross tech, throttle body problems make sense, hopefully the scrappy wont charge me much

ok plan of action is

booked in to seat on weds

they are going to diagnose

I am 90% sure its going to be a new throttle body job

not been able to find a 2nd hand one anywhere

part numbers is 06A133062C

VW said its £342 from them

a breakers can order a new one for £165

shame i cant find a used one anywhere

so if seat say thats what it is i'm going to order one in and fit myself

all vag com reports point to throttle body

faults at the throttle body actuator etc, and trying to do a throttle body allignment yesterday with vag com wouldnt work due to it having issues

so thats the plan

Seat to confirm things for me, dont want to get a new throttle body just incase i dont need one

will update on weds

UPDATED

Seat have looked at the car

and came to the same diagnosis as me,

needs a new throttle body, inc vat £389

picking it up later and driving to my dads in limp mode, having to leave the car there while I go to spain

have sourced another throttle body for £90, cleaned tested and fully working
same part number as I need

so I'll fit that when i'm back

just hope it does solve the problem, otherwise I'll be back down to seat

rare fault by the sounds of it as havent really found much on the forum about it

changed over the throttle body

did the alignment and started the car, no warning lights

and now all fixed

never judge a book by its cover, my throttle body looked in better condition visually than the one i've replaced it with

the ecu cover looks superb! the standard one is rubbish and doesnt even cover the wiring loom and looks like it makes all water run cleanly off it, yet not covering it completely like people are saying.

Whats it made out of?

Just goes to show also, never doubt vag-com!

ok, 2001 ibiza cupra, running jabbasport remap

standard airbox

a week ago now, driving along, and traction control light comes on TCS, it wont let me turn it back on

EPC also flickers a couple of times but stays off

I ignored it, was fine next time i started the car

then 2 days later, traction control light on again, TCS and EPC, constantly on, car then goes into limp mode

disconnected battery, got about fine.

noticed fuse box, right 30amp fuse had melted above battery, changed fuse box and fuses today, no better

tonight, changed fuse box, did throttle body alignment.

started car and it's even worse now, TCS and EPC on all the time, started to idle at 1200 as normal as it was cold, then it missed a beat and sunk to 1000 revs for a second, then back to 1200, it held at 1200 for 3 seconds, then dropped to 1000, then back up

turned off car, unplugged maf, car then idled at about 1000 but sounded pretty rough, engine light also came on as expected

I thought it was to do with the fuse box, or the throttle body, as vagcom listed the only fault as being the throttlebody

plan is to

clean maf
clean throttle body
check abs sensors

that sound about right

any suggestions

abs sensors easy to check, what am i looking for, just seeing if its all plugged in fine and no wires broken or snagged

the maf is shown below right?

with the 4 blue wires and one red coming out

thanks

I had the problem with the TCS light and EPC light flashing on when trying to boot it. Turned out to be my MAF signal was too low, replaced MAF deleted codes all ok

omg dave i gt the same prob!!!! im searching all over to find whats wrong and it seems to be the same faults you had! as i was driving along ant the lights came on (epc and tcs light) and i idle rough and when i press the peddel in dont rev much. any help oh yea i got a vag com request
