I've searched some threads and i'll i can find is missing pictures or ones that confuse me!

I have a boost guage (mechanical) and the hosing from forge, but where is it best to fit in the connection to get the best reading? and where can i find just the metal threaded bit with the hose connector?

On the inlet manifold is good due to it being metal - That's where my original mounting point was. I now have a specific "nipple" on the EGR replacing pipe which my current boost is tapped from. You could use anywhere along the intercooler pipework though. Will depend on what fitting you've been supplied. :)

anyone got a picture of this?

This is mine. Got a different bend on it now though. That black pipe coming off the EGR pipe is what feeds my boost guage, and also triggers the NOS/LPG via T-pieces.

s on a seat leon do you have to drill the manifold or is there already a plug to screw the new fitting into?

You'll probably need to drill. Make sure it's the same thread as the fitting you have though. I had to do this when I first got a gauge. There's no places you can easily get into the system to get a reliable, secure feed. The EGR pipe provides me with an excellent, purpose made feed.
