I understand standard 18 x7.5" Ronals on the LCR are ET38.I'm looking at Pro Race 1.2s in 18x8". Interested to hear what ET people have gone for on these ET35 or 30??

Mine are et35 mate, there's just enough room between the caliper and wheel for a cig paper, thats all. Proper close. But 10000 miles on no problems at all.

Thanks for reply.

Would you say it might make sense to go et30 then? just to give that extra 5mm buffer.

My concern also is that my standard rims/tyres are already very close to suspension leg/adjustment perch [have coilovers]

Working on basis wheel will be approx 12mm wider, I think I have worked out correctly that on et35 wheels will be in board by another 3mm and stick out board by another 9mm.
If i go et30 by my reckoning it will give me 2mm extra clearance and stick out by 14mm.

What do you reckon?

ET 30 rims should be pretty safe on your car im using 15mm spacers on the front so effective ET 23 and 20mm rear spacers effective ET18 and they're fine and thats without the CUPRA R body kit!

Should be plenty of room for the extra .5" width

Mine still has standard suspension, it's sounds like you need the extra room so I think your right, go for the et30's.

Are you on standard/ish suspension or coilovers?

Probably a very stupid question but here goes anyway. As i'm sat writing this i'm just wondering does any movement of wheels, body, suspension during driving mean the suspension leg [threaded part of coilover] and perch [used for adjusting height] move any closer to tyre/rim at any time? In other words is a gap of only a few millimetres between perch and tyre a problem or is the gap constant through any movements of vehicle whilst being driven?

Mine is a cupra and is also on coilovers. The tyre and spring adjuster or perch as you call it would touch but it's only on the bottom inch of adjustment. I have some 5mm spacers I am going to try and see if I can drop it that final inch.
