well it includes spray, weights for the balancing, taking the tyre on and off, and fitting them back on - so £260 i thought was alright??

thats well expensive. you should be looking at 45-50 a corner for powdercoating and taking wheels off, balancing etc. Spraying will chip of in a months time.

Got an online quote with the 'wheel specialist' and they quoted £360 for the same and my other quote.

Any other places where I could get it done?? I worked out though that my quote of 260 is 50quid a wheel if the balancing is 60quid - which I know is expensive

Firstly, only get them powder coated, as opposed to sprayed. It gives a better finish and is much more resilient. Spraying is a cheapo job anyway...easy to do yourself.

Balancing shouldn't be £60? I got mine done for free when I got my tyres fitted? Balancing should be free, tracking £30-40.

£50-60 is the max you should pay for powder coating, tyres on/off and balancing tbh.

Will check if it is powdercoating, is powdercoating a better thing to do?? Guess paint will just chip off if I get them sprayed?? Colourwise I'm thinking either satin Matt black or gloss black

I wouldn't get matt or satin... they just look dirty, whereas glossy look shinier.

I still reckon an antracite would look a bit more sophisticated, as with black wheels you can't really pick out any details of the alloy, so it's pointless getting stunning alloys like yours if you can't really distinguish any of the shapes on it.

Agreed and agreed. The Wheel Specialist are very expensive for what they do. I have one up my way which i got my wheels re-done under warranty at and asked for the price list and was shocked at what they charged. A local place to me quoted me £50 per wheel for 18inch Merc AMG alloys inc. balancing etc.

One thing to bear in mind with powder coating (I've had a few friends who have ended up disappointed) is that if you mark them on a kerb or anything, that's it, they can't be touched up properly. Whereas if they're sprayed, if you have some paint of the same colour then they can be repaired.

The best thing to do would be not to hit any kerbs... but when other people drive my car it's a risk I can't take!

yes. much better than spraying. don't see why you cant touch up a powdercoated wheel, just need to get the same colour paint

Shall ask if it is powdercoating at the 260quote I got & I shall also look around at other places in Yorkshire/that area :)

I just looked at a well known place round at my areas website and they do do same day service powdercoating for £200. I reckon that's what you should be paying. I would'nt do them gloss black, will just blend into the arches and not stand out how they should. Dark grey gets my vote :)

If its cheap powder coating you're wanting I'd go to CAS Coatings in Bradford.

CAS Coatings
Old Mill
Victoria Road
Bradford
West Yorkshire BD2 2BH
01274 634493

They dont do wheel refurbs, just powder coating at £1 an inch +vat in Gloss colours.
So if you're looking to save expense then you could get wheels refurbed but not sprayed then take them to CAS.

Cheers for the info :)

So while driving this morning to drop something off I was thinking about other mods I want to do, the list is -

Cupra Rear
Silver indicator bulbs (ordered them about 10mins ago)
Flip key
Arm rest (maybe)
Fog lights
Twin reflector headlights (maybe)
Painted Calipers

And other little things I need to repair on the car are -

Seats could do with a little retrim
Alloys need a refurb
Buff out a few scratches :)

Opinions??
