Just read through the entire thread and enjoyed seeing what you have done with the car so far.

Now can I ask you a question?Looking to buy a 2003/4 1.2 ibiza as my first car and been getting quotes of around £3k online.I tried phoning some companies but they aren't any use.

Was just wondering is £3k around the sort of range you paid,obviously we arent same region but just trying to work out estimates at this stage.

3k online?? not sure becuase of how i did my insurance....rang the company told them my details and said ring me back when you have a good price, took them 5 times before they rang back with a good price

best bet is to have a look online (LV are good along with NFU - im with NFU) and then ring them up and hagglee, also do it near the end of the month because they have targets to meet so shall give you money off just to get your trade, besides that just shop around and keep trying...you can spend all day putting in 'cheap car insurance' on google but you wont find it.

if your a 17year old lad then your stuffed for insurance prices until your about 21/22.

2006 Ibiza 1.2 Reference - Up for £3.3k, however could probably be haggled down to £3.1k

Insurance for me (I live in the south so it's much cheaper...) was £1960 on an '07 1.2, then £2300 once I passed. Then went down to £1400, then my renewal in August is £750. That's with Admiral and their '10 month bonus accelerator'.

nice looking ibiza - good price too.....apparantly insurance on Corsa's <- should be for saying that and Fiestas is more expensive because they are more popular as a first car and have more chance of being written off...while Ibizas, Fabias, (some) polos and suzuki swifts arent as they havent got a huge network of modifiers unlike the corsas.

not sure whether its true but it would make sense.....but im glad i got an Ibiza and nothing else

Some cars are stupid to insure, my old 1.2 Punto, (W Reg) which I learnt to drive in was £3 cheaper a month than my 07 1.2 Ibiza, so I was like fine Ibiza it is

now I have done the service with all parts i listed & the car is running beautifuly...so happy not sure whether the new parts are the reason or not but she feels quicker too

Definate service part i would reccomend is a new fuel filter if you havent had a new one already - amount of crap that came out of mine was untrue!

Bushes are being fitted this thursday and the bonnet & bumper are being painted on April 18th and being fitted on the thursday after

alloys are due next month along with any other ideas i have - next thing for me i think after alloys is cupra rear end - any ideas on the cupra rear end??

only problem for me is that the dipstick is saying i have no oil at all - besides that the sump plug was hard to get off but came off OK

& pics are all shown of old & new parts above - the fuel & oil & air filters make a massive difference to the way the car goes imo

Golf Mk4 I got mine with bulbs with it but I've ordered 2x error free 194 W5W bulbs & 1x LED light

W5W are just 501 sidelights, like you have in the headlights.... Get a cheapo set like I did, they are great in blue LED

Will look weird having 2 orange, one white/blue LED won't it?

How hard is it to fit? Does it need soldering like the Passat W8 light or is it plug and play?
